''Inside the Third Reich'' is a 1982 television film based on the book ''Inside the Third Reich'' by Albert Speer directed by Marvin J. Chomsky. It was originally broadcast on network television by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). Speer was portrayed in the movie by Rutger Hauer, Joseph Goebbels by Ian Holm, Randy Quaid as Putzi Hanfstaengel, and Adolf Hitler by Derek Jacobi, a role for which he was nominated for an Emmy. The miniseries did win two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Film Sound Editing and Outstanding Directing in a Limited Series or a Special; DGA also outstanding directorial achievement in dramatic specials. ''Inside the Third Reich'' (, "Memories") is a memoir written by Albert Speer, the Nazi Minister of Armaments from 1942 to 1945, serving as Adolf Hitler's main architect before this period. It is considered to be one of the most detailed descriptions of the inner workings and leadership of Nazi Germany, but is controversial because of Speer's lack of discussion of Nazi atrocities and questions regarding his degree of awareness or involvement with them. At the Nuremberg Trials, Speer was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his use of prisoners in the armaments factories while Minister of Armaments. From 1946 to 1966, while serving the sentence in Spandau Prison, he penned more than 2,000 manuscript pages of personal memoirs. His first draft was written from March 1953 to 26 December 1954. Elsa Viveca Torstensdotter Lindfors (December 29, 1920 – October 25, 1995) was a Swedish-American stage, film, and television actress. She won an Emmy Award and a Silver Bear for Best Actress. Erhard Milch
Erhard Milch (30 March 1892 – 25 January 1972) was a German ''Generalfeldmarschall'' of the ''Luftwaffe'' who oversaw its founding and development during the rearmament of Germany and most of World War II. Milch served as State Secretary in the Reich Ministry of Aviation from May 1933 to June 1944 and as Inspector General of the ''Luftwaffe'' from February 1939 to January 1945. Milch was an early member of the ''Luftstreitkräfte'' during World War I and worked as an airline director in the German civil aviation industry after the war. Eva Anna Paula Hitler (; 6 February 1912 – 30 April 1945) was a German photographer who was the longtime companion and briefly the wife of Adolf Hitler. Magda Goebbels
Johanna Maria Magdalena Goebbels (; 11 November 1901 – 1 May 1945) was the wife of Nazi Germany's propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels. A prominent member of the Nazi Party, she was a close ally, companion, and political supporter of Adolf Hitler. Some historians refer to her as the unofficial " first lady" of Nazi Germany, while others give that title to Emmy Göring. Karl Hanke
Karl August Hanke (24 August 1903 – 8 June 1945) was an official of the Nazi Party (NSDAP) during its rule over Germany who served as the fifth and final '' Reichsführer'' of the ''Schutzstaffel'' (SS). He also served as ''Gauleiter'' of Gau Lower Silesia from 1941 to 1945 and as '' Oberpräsident'' of the Prussian Province of Lower Silesia. Captured on 6 May 1945, he was shot and wounded during an escape attempt and then beaten to death by Czech guards on 8 June, after the war had ended.
