Vonray
Vonray was an American alternative rock band from Orlando, Florida, United States. The group formed around singer/songwriter Vaughan Rhea, originally from Tennessee, who had come to Orlando playing as an acoustic coffee shop act with his brother and co-lyricist, Dave, on bass. Inspired by grunge music, the brothers Rhea put together a band and began playing somewhat harder sounding tunes, though still acoustic-based. Soon after, the band was opening locally for national acts as they toured through Orlando venues such as Hard Rock Live and House of Blues. ''Vonray'' is the debut major label (Elektra Records) studio album by American rock band Vonray, released on April 8, 2003. This was Vonray's last released album. ''Vonray'' yielded the band's only success with the single "Inside Out". Production and marketing After three independent studio album releases and opening for many high-profile bands such as Third Eye Blind, Seven Mary Three and Creed, the band Vonray was signed to Elektra Records in late 2002. The band began working on an album which was produced by Marc Tanner, who worked with the likes of The Calling and Nelson. Elektra Records (or Elektra Entertainment) is an American record label owned by Warner Music Group, founded in 1950 by Jac Holzman and Paul Rickolt.
