The Battle of Dasman Palace ( ''maʿraka Qaṣr Dasmān''), also called the Battle of Dasman, was a battle between the Kuwaiti and Iraqi forces during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on 2 August 1990. Battle On 2 August 1990, shortly after 00:00 local time, Iraq invaded Kuwait. The attack on Dasman Palace, the residence of the Emir of Kuwait, by Iraqi special forces commenced sometime between 04:00 and 06:00; these forces have been variously reported as helicopter airborne troops, or as infiltrators in civilian clothes. The Iraqi forces were reinforced through the battle by the arrival of further troops, notably elements of the Republican Guard "Hammurabi" Division that had passed to the east of Al Jahra, using Highway 80 to attack into Kuwait City. Coat Of Arms Of Kuwait
The emblem of Kuwait ( ar, شعار الكويت) was created in 1962 and it consists of the shield of the flag design in color superimposed on a golden falcon (Hawk of Quraish) with wings displayed. The falcon supports a disk containing a boom sailing ship, a type of dhow, with the full name of the state written (in Arabic) at the top of the disk. The dhow is a symbol of the maritime tradition of the country and is also found in the national coat of arms of Qatar (until 2008, also in the UAE coat of arms). The falcon is a symbol of the Banu Quraish line, to which the Islamic prophet Muhammad belonged and is likewise found in many coats of arms of the Arabian Peninsula. The coat of arms replaced an older emblem with a falcon and two crossed flags. Christianity in Kuwait is a minority religion, accounting for 18%-20% of the country's population, or 650,000 - 750,000 people. Kuwait's Christians can be divided into 2 groups. The first group are Christians who are native Kuwaitis numbering approximately between 600 and 800 people. The second group, who make up the majority of Christians in Kuwait, are expatriates from various countries around the world. There are also a number of Crypto-Christians from a Muslim background in the country, though many are not citizens. A 2015 study estimates some 350 such Christians in the country that are ex-Muslim. Bayan, Kuwait
Bayan () is a residential area and district within Kuwait City in the Hawalli Governorate of Kuwait, consisting of 13 blocks, and situated approximately 15 kilometres away from the core areas of Kuwait City. Its naming was inspired by the fact that it is in an area of higher altitude in comparison to its surrounding Mishref, Salwa, and Rumaithiya. The Kuwaiti Government headquarters are located in Bayan Palace which houses its own mosque and gardens within its walls.
