Independent Baseball League
An independent baseball league is a professional baseball league in the United States or Canada that is not overseen by Major League Baseball or its affiliated Minor League Baseball system (historically referred to as organized baseball). Independent leagues have flourished in northeastern states, where dense populations can often support multiple franchises. Because they are not subject to the territorial limitations imposed on affiliated minor-league teams, independent clubs can relocate as close to affiliated teams (and one another) as they choose to. For example, the city of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, cannot have an affiliated team because of its proximity to the Harrisburg Senators and Reading Fightin Phils, leaving the Atlantic League to place a team—the Lancaster Barnstormers—to fill the void. New York Boulders
The New York Boulders are a professional baseball team based in Pomona, New York. The Boulders compete in the Frontier League (FL) as a member of the East Division in the Atlantic Conference. The team plays its home games at Clover Stadium, a stadium they share with the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). They are one of three Frontier League franchises located in the New York metropolitan area; the others being the New Jersey Jackals and Sussex County Miners. John Rocker
John Loy Rocker (born October 17, 1974) is an American former professional baseball relief pitcher who played six seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), primarily with the Atlanta Braves. Rocker made his major league debut in 1998 with the Braves, where he spent four seasons and was later a member of the Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He last played professionally for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball in 2005. Juan Alberto González Vázquez (born October 20, 1969), nicknamed Juan Gone, is a Puerto Rican former baseball outfielder. He played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for four teams, but is most identified with the Texas Rangers (baseball), Texas Rangers, for whom he played from 1989 to 1999 and again from 2002 to 2003. Scott Edward Kazmir (; born January 24, 1984) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who participated in 15 Major League Baseball (MLB) seasons between and , most notably with the Tampa Bay Rays. Kazmir was born and raised in the Houston, Texas area and gained the attention of MLB scouts as an award-winning multi-sport high school athlete. He was chosen in the first round (15th overall) of the 2002 Major League Baseball draft by the New York Mets and quickly progressed through the lower levels of the club's minor league system. Chien-Ming Wang (; born March 31, 1980) is a Taiwanese former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees, Washington Nationals, Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals.
