Michael Henderson
Michael Earl Henderson (July 7, 1951 – July 19, 2022) was an American bass guitarist and vocalist. He was known for his work with Miles Davis in the early 1970s and on early fusion albums such as '' Jack Johnson'', '' Live-Evil'', and ''Agharta'', along with a series of his own R&B/soul hits and others featuring him on vocals, particularly the Norman Connors-produced hit " You Are My Starship" in 1976 and other songs in the mid to late-1970s. Early life Michael Earl Henderson was born on July 7, 1951, in Yazoo City, Mississippi. In the early 1960s he moved to Detroit, playing as a session musician. Career Henderson was one of the first notable bass guitarists of the fusion era as well as being one of the most influential jazz and soul musicians of the past 40 years. Cherrelle
Cheryl Anne Norton (born October 13, 1958), better known by her stage name Cherrelle, is an American R&B singer and songwriter who gained fame in the mid-1980s. Her signature hits include " I Didn't Mean to Turn You On", "Where Do I Run To", "Everything I Miss at Home", and duets with R&B singer Alexander O'Neal such as " Saturday Love" and " Never Knew Love Like This", as well as "Always" with her cousin Pebbles. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. This tracking period also applies to compiling online streaming data. Barbara Jane Ingram (February 9, 1947 – October 20, 1994) was an American R&B singer and songwriter who was active throughout the early 1970s until the mid-late 1980s, enjoying modest success as a backup singer for almost two decades. Career In 1972, Ingram formed a vocal trio with her cousin Carla Benson and Benson's close friend, Evette Benton, alternating with group names such as: " The Sweethearts of Sigma", "The Philadelphia Angels", "The Sweeties" and "The Sweethearts". Rena Scott
Rena Scott (born 1956) is an American soul and R&B artist, from Detroit. Biography Rena Scott was recognized as a child for her singing ability in church. She performed her first talent show at the age of 13, and afterwards her first record "I Just Can't Forget That Boy", was released. She performed during that period as an opening act at local venues for many of the Motown acts like The Temptations, the Four Tops, and The Originals. The highlight of that period was singing back-up for Aretha Franklin at Carnegie Hall. Her biggest hit came in 1978 with "Take Me I'm Yours", a duet with Michael Henderson.
