''In the Arms of God'' is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Corrosion of Conformity, released on April 5, 2005. It is the only album of the band to not feature drummer Reed Mullin and the last to feature Pepper Keenan on vocals and guitar until 2018's '' No Cross No Crown''; although he rejoined the band in 2014. Stanton Moore of the band Galactic played drums on this album. Stanton Moore
Stanton Moore (born July 9, 1972) is an American funk, jazz, and rock drummer from New Orleans. Most widely known as a founding member of Galactic, Moore has also pursued a solo recording career (beginning with his 1998 debut ''All Kooked Out!'') and recorded with bands as diverse as jazz-funk keyboardist Robert Walter and heavy metal act Corrosion of Conformity. He also travels internationally to teach New Orleans drumming, writes regularly for drumming magazines, and releases instructional books and videos. In 2017 Moore established the Stanton Moore Drum Academy. Career Moore was raised in Metairie in suburban New Orleans. As of 2008 some of Moore's recent projects include the Stanton Moore Trio, Garage A Trois and the Midnite Disturbers. Corrosion Of Conformity Albums
Corrosion is a natural process that converts a refined metal into a more chemically stable oxide. It is the gradual deterioration of materials (usually a metal) by chemical or electrochemical reaction with their environment. Corrosion engineering is the field dedicated to controlling and preventing corrosion. In the most common use of the word, this means electrochemical oxidation of metal in reaction with an oxidant such as oxygen, hydrogen or hydroxide. Rusting, the formation of iron oxides, is a well-known example of electrochemical corrosion. Mike Dean (musician)
Thomas Michael Dean (born August 24, 1963) is an American musician who is the bassist for heavy metal band Corrosion of Conformity. Dean sang on the band's early recordings from their crossover thrash era before leaving the band in 1987. In 1989, Dean, along with C.O.C. guitarist Woody Weatherman and Brian Walsby on drums, released the Snake Nation album via Caroline Records. Dean rejoined C.O.C. as the bassist and occasional vocalist in 1993 and has remained with the band since. From 2010 through 2020, the original lineup of Corrosion of Conformity consisting of Dean, Reed Mullin, and Woody Weatherman, were again performing and recording as a three-piece, until Mullin’s death in 2020. Galactic is an American jam band from New Orleans, Louisiana. Origins and background Formed in 1994 as an octet (under the name Galactic Prophylactic) and including singer Chris Lane and guitarist Rob Gowen, the group was soon pared down to a sextet of: guitarist Jeff Raines, bassist Robert Mercurio, drummer Stanton Moore, Hammond organist Rich Vogel, Theryl DeClouet on vocals, and later adding saxophonist Ben Ellman.
