Imperial (band)
Imperial is an American metalcore band from Orlando, Florida. Their music is a mixture of modern metal, hardcore, and Black metal. History Imperial was formed by Dale Dupree, Josh Lightfoot, and Brandon Pangle as "The Red Letter", in Orlando, Florida in 2003. They toured with other bands throughout the United States, ending with a performance at Cornerstone Festival in Illinois. The tour resulted in a recording contract with Pluto Records. Shortly afterward, the band changed their name from "The Red Letter", due to other bands having similar names, to the name Imperial. After signing with Pluto Records, the band released their first album, ''This Grave Is My Poem'', with the help of Jeremy Staska at Studio 13 and Allan Douches at West West side for mastering duties. Society's Finest is an American metalcore band from Dallas, Texas. Their first full-length album, ''The Journey...So Far'', was released on Solid State Records in May 2000. Due to member changes and personal matters the band took a break from touring and recording to focus on their personal lives. During this hiatus, vocalist Josh Ashworth toured with the metalcore band Zao (American band), Zao. When re-forming in 2004, the band joined Hand of Hope Records. With this label, they released ''Love, Murder, and a Three Letter Word'' in mid-2004. It contained new songs, along with old songs from their debut Extended play, EP, ''Private Conflicts and Suicides'' (Pluto Records). Cornerstone Festival was a Christian music festival put on by Jesus People USA and held annually around July 4 near Bushnell, Illinois, drawing some 20,000 attendees each year. In a given year, many artists that played at Cornerstone also played at other events such as Creation Festival and mainstream festivals and tours such as the Warped Tour. The final festival was held in 2012. Cornerstone Festival was a member of the Christian Festival Association.
