Pontal do Paraná is a municipality in the state of Paraná in the Southern Region of Brazil. Pontal do Paraná is home to the Center for Marine Studies, Federal University of Paraná. The South American tern (''Sterna hirundinacea'') is a species of tern found in coastal regions of southern South America, including the Falkland Islands, ranging north to Peru (Pacific coast) and Brazil ( Atlantic coast). The Abrolhos Marine National Park ( ) is a national park that was established in 1983 covering most of the Abrolhos Archipelago area in the state of Bahia, Brazil.
