Igor Taro
Igor Taro (1 August 1981) is an Estonian journalist and politician, who is the current Minister of the Interior. He previously served as a member of the XV Riigikogu. Biography Taro was born in Võru. In 1999, he graduated from Võru Kreutzwald Gymnasium. He completed his studies in journalism at Moscow State University. Throughout his career as a journalist, Igor Taro has worked as a Moscow correspondent for ''Õhtuleht'', an editor for foreign news at the newspaper ''Postimees'', and an editor at the newspaper Setomaa. Starting from 2010, he worked as the Võru and Põlvamaa correspondent for Estonian Public Broadcasting (Eesti Rahvusringhääling). In January 2015, he left his job at Estonian Public Broadcasting and ran for the Riigikogu on the IRL (now Isamaa) party's list. Võru
Võru (; ; ) is a town and a municipality in south-eastern Estonia. It is the capital of Võru County and the centre of Võru Parish. History Võru was founded on 21 August 1784, at the request of the Empress Catherine II of Russia, by the order of Riga Governor general count George Browne, on the site of the former Võru estate as the center of the new county. From 1797 until today, Võru has been the administrative center of the surrounding region. In 1827, the Võru Town Hospital was opened and Friedrich Reinhold Kreutzwald, who lived and worked as a doctor in Võru from 1833 to 1877, also wrote the Estonian national epic " Kalevipoeg" in Võru. Valga County ( or ''Valgamaa'') is a first-level administrative unit and one of 15 counties of Estonia. It comprises the former area of Valga District. The present-day county was created on 1 January 1990. The capital and largest town of Valga County is Valga, Estonia, Valga, followed by Tõrva and Otepää. Estonia 200 (, E200) is a liberal political party in Estonia. Since 2024, the party has been a junior partner in the Michal cabinet. History Formation and 2019 elections In 2017, the initiators of the movement began discussing Estonia's future. Võru County ( or ''Võrumaa''; ) is a county in southern Estonia. It is bordered by Valga and Põlva counties, Latvia's Alūksne and Ape municipalities, and Russia's Pskov Oblast (making it the only Estonian county to border two countries).
