Iftikhar Ahmed (Faisalabad Cricketer)
Iftikhar Ahmed (born 14 December 1984) is a Pakistani cricketer who played for Faisalabad. Having played for Kasur in inter-district cricket for several seasons, Ahmed made his first-class debut for Faisalabad in the 2014–15 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Silver League, playing in four of the team's six matches in the competition. He also played in three List A matches in the President's Silver Cup One Day. After Faisalabad failed to qualify for first-class cricket the following season, he continued to play for the team in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy GradeII competition. Faisalabad Cricket Team
Faisalabad Cricket Team was one of the eight regional first-class cricket clubs, based in Faisalabad, Pakistan. Its limited overs team was called Faisalabad Wolves. Kit colours are White for first-class cricket matches and Green for one-day and 20/20 competitions. They lost their first-class status when they were relegated from the 2016–17 Pakistan Super League. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Together with first-class and Twenty20 cricket, List A is one of the three major forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). 2014–15 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2014–15 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was the 57th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the premier domestic first-class cricket competition in Pakistan. It was contested by 26 teams representing 14 regional associations and 12 departments. The Pakistan Cricket Board made major changes to the structure of the domestic first-class competitions for the 2014–15 season. For the first time in three years, all teams competed in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, which was split into two divisions – named as the Gold and Silver leagues; the departments had competed in their own President's Trophy for the previous two seasons. The National One Day Cup was the national domestic List A (one-day) cricket competition in Pakistan. 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was the 60th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan's domestic first-class cricket competition. It was contested by 16 teams representing eight regional associations and eight departments, and took place from 26 September to 25 December 2017, spanning almost two weeks less than originally planned. Pakistan's former Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq was critical of the compressed schedule and the quality of the pitches saying "it takes time to prepare a good pitch for a game and nobody can make it in two days".
