Ice Hockey At The 2026 Winter Olympics – Men's Qualification
Qualification for the men's ice hockey tournament at the 2026 Winter Olympics was determined by the IIHF World Ranking following the 2023 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships. A total of 12 men's hockey teams qualified. The hosts (Italy) along with the top eight teams in the world ranking received automatic berths into the Olympics, while all other teams had an opportunity to qualify for the remaining three spots. Ice Hockey At The 2026 Winter Olympics – Men's Tournament
The men's tournament in ice hockey at the 2026 Winter Olympics will take place in Milan, Italy between 11 and 22 February 2026. Twelve countries qualified for the tournament; eight of them did so automatically by virtue of their ranking by the International Ice Hockey Federation, one, Italy, automatically qualified as hosts, while the three others took part in a qualification tournament. Russia is banned from competing due to the countries' invasion of Ukraine. Venues Qualified teams Format The twelve teams are split into three groups of four teams each, in which they play against each team once. The top team of each group and the best second-ranked team advance to the quarterfinals, while all other teams play a qualification round. A knockout system will be used after the group stage. Thailand Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Thailand national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Thailand. The team is controlled by the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Thailand is currently ranked at fifty-first in the IIHF World Rankings and have been entered in the World Championship tournaments since 2019 but have not yet participated at any Olympic Games. They have played in the Challenge Cup of Asia, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia. The first official hockey league in Thailand, the Bangkok Ice Hockey league (BIHL) was founded in 2014. The Chinese Taipei national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The team is controlled by the Chinese Taipei Ice Hockey Federation and is a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Chinese Taipei is currently ranked 41st in the IIHF World Ranking and competes in the Division IIB. History Chinese Taipei has only been active in 1987, 2005, 2008 and 2010.
