Ian Edward Wright (born 3 November 1963) is an English media personality and former professional footballer. Wright enjoyed success with London clubs Crystal Palace and Arsenal as a forward, spending six years with the former and seven years with the latter. With Arsenal he lifted the Premier League title, both the major domestic cup competitions, and the European Cup Winners Cup. Known for his speed, agility, finishing and aggression, he played 581 league games, scoring 287 goals for seven clubs in Scotland and England, while also earning 33 caps for the England national team, and scoring nine international goals. Ian Matthew Wright (born 10 March 1972) is an English former footballer who played as a central defender. He started his career at Stoke City and later played for Bristol Rovers and Hull City before dropping down into non-league football with Hereford United. Career Wright started his career at Second Division side Stoke City's youth team. He passed through the youth ranks at City and was handed a professional contract with the club in 1990. He made his debut against Swindon Town on the final day of the 1989–90 season with Stoke already relegated to the Third Division. He struggled to establish himself in the first team and joined non-league Corby Town in 1992. He made just nine appearances for The "Potters" before he was released in 1993. Ian Wright is a British illustrator. Education and career Born in England in 1953, Wright studied at Goldsmiths College in London (1974–1975) and received a bachelor's degree in graphic design from the London College of Printing in 1978. Following his degree studies, he became an assistant to George Hardie (1978–1979) and then shared a studio with designer Neville Brody at '' The Face'' magazine (1979–1981, 1990–1996). In 1981, he set up his own studio. Ian Wright was born in Aberdeen, United Kingdom. He studied mathematics at the University of Aberdeen before embarking on a career in music. His main interest outside music is travelling, especially when it involves walking and cycling. Career Wright was made a fellow of the Royal Northern College of Music in 1988. He was involved in the preparation of the first percussion syllabus for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), a task which included writing the pieces for the four timpani books and some of the snare drum pieces for the examinations. He is presently a diploma examiner for the ABRSM. Ian Andrew Wright (born 9 December 1961) is a former New Zealand rower who won an Olympic bronze medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Wright won 31 national titles during his career. After his rowing career ended, he became a coach and his Swiss lightweight men's four team won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He was announced as Australia's head rowing coach in September 2016. He immediately coached the Australian men's four to a gold medal at the 2017 world rowing championships in Sarasota, Florida. Rowing career Wright was born in 1961 in Wanganui, New Zealand.
