Ian Richards (racewalker)
Ian William Richards (born April 12, 1948) is a racewalker from England, who represented Great Britain at the 1980 Summer Olympics. Biography Richards finished third behind Steve Barry in the 3,000m walk event at the 1980 AAA Championships. Shortly afterwards at the 1980 Olympics Games in Moscow, he represented Great Britain and finished in 11th place in the men's 50 km race, clocking 4:22.57. Two years after the Olympics Richards retired from competition, before returning to competition at the age of 60. At the 2013 World Masters Athletics Championships in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Richards set a world record in the M65 5,000 meter racewalk (the event for men aged 65–69 years), with a time of 24:13.10, and was second in the M65 10,000 meter racewalk. Richards won the 5,000 meter racewalk at the 2015 World Masters Athletics Championships. Ian Michael Richards (born 9 December 1957) is a former English cricketer. Richards was a left-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham. Richards made his first-class debut for Northamptonshire against Oxford University in 1976. He played first-class cricket for Northamptonshire from 1976 to 1979, making 23 first-class appearances. In his first-class career for the county, he scored 467 runs at an average of 22.23, with a high score of 50. This score, his only first-class fifty, came against Nottinghamshire in 1976. With the ball, he took 7 wickets at a bowling average of 28.71, with best figures of 4/57. His List A debut also came in 1976, when Northamptonshire played Nottinghamshire in the John Player League. Richards made nine further List A appearances for the county, the last of which came against Yorkshire in the 1979 John Player League. Ian Jason Richards (born May 31, 1975) is a former county court judge in the Florida's 17th Judicial Circuit. Richards was the first African-American judge to be elected countywide in Broward County, Florida. He presided over ''State of Florida v. John Reasee'', in which Richards jumped over his bench to protect a witness who was being attacked by the man against whom she had testified. Early life and career Richards, the son of a mechanic and registered nurse, grew up in South Florida. Ian Richards (born 5 October 1979) is an English former footballer. He began his career with Blackburn Rovers but failed to make the first team and moved on to Halifax Town, where he made 24 Football League appearances. He has since gone on to play for non-league teams Belper Town and Stocksbridge Park Steels. He first managed Penistone Church before moving on to take the manager's job at Stocksbridge Park Steels in September 2021.
