''I Know What I'm Living For'' (German: ''Ich weiß, wofür ich lebe'') is a 1955 West German drama film directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Luise Ullrich, Robert Freitag and Lil Dagover. Holmstrom p.249 It was shot at the Bavaria Studios in Munich and on location around Baierbrunn and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Ernst H. Paul Verhoeven (German Director)
Paul Verhoeven (; born 18 July 1938) is a Dutch filmmaker. His blending of graphic violence and sexual content with social satire is a trademark of both his drama and science fiction films. After receiving attention for the TV series '' Floris'' in his native Netherlands, Verhoeven got his film breakthrough with romantic drama '' Turkish Delight'' (1973), starring frequent collaborator Rutger Hauer. The film was nominated for Academy Award for Best Foreign Film and later received the award for Best Dutch Film of the Century at the Netherlands Film Festival. Baierbrunn
Baierbrunn is a municipality in the district of Munich in the south-German state Bavaria. It is located between Schäftlarn and Pullach on the Bundesstraße 11 and consists of the two villages Baierbrunn and Buchenhain. Baierbrunn has a stop on the S7 of the Munich S-Bahn. History Some remains of a hillfort from the Early Middle Ages, called Birg, can be found on the area of the municipality of Baierbrunn. The earliest known mentioning of Baierbrunn was in 776 on a deed of gift from Kloster Schäftlarn. It became an independent municipality in 1818. The village of Buchenhain started 1900 with an inn called "Waldgasthof". Leo Fischer (actor)
Leo H. Fischer (September 20, 1897 - October 1970) was an American sports writer, editor and organizer. He also served on the boards of charitable organizations and headed the National Basketball League in the early 1940s before it merged with another professional organization to become the National Basketball Association that continues to exist today. Family life Fischer was born in Chicago. His parents were Abraham and Anna (née Silverberg). From 1921 to 1923, Fischer studied at Northwestern University. Michael Ande (born 5 October 1944, Bad Wiessee) is a German actor, best-known for his role as Gerd Heymann in the West German crime-drama television series ''The Old Fox'' which he played between 1977 and 2016. He was a well-known German film child star during the 1950s. Karl Gerhart "Gert" Fröbe (; 25 February 1913 – 5 September 1988) was a German actor. Werner Fuetterer (10 January 1907 in Barth, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern – 7 February 1991 in Benidorm, Province of Alicante, Spain) was a German film actor. He appeared in nearly 100 films between 1925 and 1967. In his early film career, Fuetterer often played young romantic lovers, but never managed the breakthrough to stardom. He later turned to character and supporting roles, often as the main characters best friend. Fuetterer remains perhaps best known for his role as the Archangel in F. W. Ruth Stephan (27 October 1925 – 8 August 1975) was a German film and stage actress. She appeared with Heinz Erhardt in the 'Willi' series of films. Biography Ruth Stephan was born to retail merchant Kurt Stephan and his wife, Kriemhilde. After graduating from school, she first worked as a certified bank teller before taking acting lessons. During her early acting career, she worked mostly on the stage in Germany, including theaters in Hamburg and Berlin. She appeared in her first movie in 1951, and subsequently became a popular figure in German comedy movies. Most notably she appeared in numerous movies alongside Heinz Erhardt, often playing his wife or secretary.
