I Killed The Prom Queen
I Killed the Prom Queen is an Australian metalcore band from Adelaide, formed in 2001. They were prominent in the Australian live music scene and toured the US, Japan and Europe several times. They issued three studio albums: '' When Goodbye Means Forever...'' (2003), '' Music for the Recently Deceased'' (2006) and '' Beloved'' (2014). The latter two albums peaked at #27 and #6 on the ARIA Albums Chart respectively. The band initially split up in April 2007 due to the inability to find a permanent vocalist. They reformed with vocalist Michael Crafter to play a farewell tour in mid-2008 and released a live album and DVD, '' Sleepless Nights and City Lights'', which peaked at #48 in Australia. Jona Weinhofen
Jona Weinhofen (born 1 January 1983) is an Australian musician. He is the lead guitarist for metalcore band I Killed the Prom Queen, and was the rhythm guitarist for British band Bring Me the Horizon, from 2009 to 2013 and the guitarist for Californian band Bleeding Through from 2007 to 2009. In September 2021, he joined Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows alongside Craig Owens. Musical career Jona Weinhofen formed metalcore band I Killed the Prom Queen in Adelaide in 2000 with drummer JJ Peters. The band released two LPs, one EP, a split EP, a demo and a live CD/DVD before their first split in 2007, with Weinhofen acting as manager from 2004 to 2007. ''Sleepless Nights and City Lights'' is a live compilation album and DVD by Australian metalcore band I Killed the Prom Queen, released through Stomp Entertainment on 22 November 2008. The album featured the first live tracks released by I Killed the Prom Queen, excluding the bonus tracks available on the tour edition of '' Music for the Recently Deceased''. The DVD features the band in front of their hometown crowd at the HQ's in Adelaide, during their final tour, the 2008 Say Goodbye Tour. They performed songs from all of their releases, with the tour bringing the return of former vocalist Michael Crafter. The DVD contains interviews with each band member, discussing their experiences within I Killed the Prom Queen and the possibility of a return. ''Beloved'' is the third and final full-length studio album by Australian metalcore band I Killed the Prom Queen. It was released in Australia on 14 February 2014 and in US on 18 February 2014. The album was streamed on Alternative Press's website on 5 February 2014. This is the first album from the band since its reformation along with three new members, Jamie Hope (vocals), Shane O'Brien (drums) and Benjamin Coyte (bass). ''Music for the Recently Deceased'' is the second studio album by Australian metalcore band I Killed the Prom Queen that was released on 14 November 2006. In August 2005, I Killed the Prom Queen flew to Sweden to record their follow-up album, Music for the Recently Deceased. By late 2005, they had completed recording the album but in January 2006 vocalist Michael Crafter was fired. Instead of releasing the album as it was, they decided to hire a new vocalist and replace Crafter's tracks. Ed Butcher, from United Kingdom band The Hunt for Ida Wave was recruited. New lyrics were written by Cameron and Butcher, while some lyrics that the whole band had contributed during the Crafter sessions were retained. Michael Crafter is an Australian singer, songwriter and entertainment manager. His music career began as lead vocalist for I Killed the Prom Queen. Crafter is the vocalist of Confession, and formerly fronted Carpathian and Bury Your Dead. He also founded the Mistake clothing label, tattoo shops and a printing business. Carpathian (band)
Carpathian were an Australian hardcore band formed in Melbourne in 2003. The band disbanded in 2011, with its final line-up comprising vocalist Martin Kirby, guitarists Josh Manitta and Lloyd Carroll, bass guitarist Ed Redcliff and drummer David "Skan" Bichard. Carpathian was made up of both straight edge and non-straight edge members. The band started out as a metalcore band, but by the time of their second album ''Isolation'', moved into melodic hardcore territory.
