I Found Lovin'
"I Found Lovin'" is a song first released by the Fatback Band in 1983 by Master Mix Records. Co-written by long-time Fatback Band bassist Johnny Flippin and then-new singer/keyboardist Michael Walker (the latter of whom performed lead vocals on the track), "I Found Lovin'" was included on the group's album ''With Love''. The song reached number 49 on the UK Singles Charts in 1984. The song was re-recorded and released by Important Records in August 1986, upon which it reached number 55 in the UK. In January 1987, the original release of the song was re-released, which peaked at number 7 in the charts. While the song did not have a showing on the U.S. R&B singles chart in any of its three releases, it received airplay on American Urban contemporary stations. It was also featured near the beginning of the 2002 film ''Brown Sugar'', although it does not appear on the soundtrack. Fatback Band
The Fatback Band (later, simply Fatback) is an American funk and disco band that was popular in the 1970s and 1980s. The Fatback Band is most known for their R&B hits: "(Do the) Spanish Hustle", "I Like Girls", "Gotta Get My Hands on Some (Money)", "Backstrokin'" and " I Found Lovin'". Their 1979 single " King Tim III (Personality Jock)" is generally considered the first commercially released hip hop single. Steam (band)
Steam was an American pop rock music group, best known for their 1969 number one hit single, "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye". The song was written and recorded by studio musicians Gary DeCarlo (aka Garrett Scott), Dale Frashuer, and producer/writer Paul Leka at Mercury Records studios in New York City. The single was attributed to the band Steam, although at the time there was actually no band with that name. Love City Groove were a musical group who represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995, with their self-titled song after being the winner in a public vote. The song finished tenth with 76 points; and peaked at No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart. The band Beginnings Love City Groove were formed by the producer and songwriter Stephen "Beanz" Rudden, who at the time was a staff writer at Warner Chappell Music. Rudden had worked with fellow Warner Chappell writer Tatiana Mais, also known as "Q-Tee", producing one of her songs, and requested that she rap over a song he had written, called "Sentence of Love". Jeff Redd is an American singer and record producer who performed new jack swing-style R&B music in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
