''I'm a Big Girl Now'' is an American sitcom that aired on ABC from October 31, 1980, until May 8, 1981. ''Soap'' creator Susan Harris and producers Paul Junger Witt and Tony Thomas developed the series as a star vehicle for Diana Canova following her success playing Corinne Tate Flotsky on ''Soap'', although ''I'm a Big Girl Now'' is not a ''Soap'' spinoff. Canova sings the show's theme song, which was written by Leslie Bricusse and George Tipton. Leslie Bricusse OBE (; 29 January 1931 – 19 October 2021) was a British composer, lyricist, and playwright who worked on theatre musicals and wrote theme music for films. Tony Mordente
Anthony Charles Mordente Jr. (December 3, 1935 – June 11, 2024) was an American actor, dancer, choreographer, and television director. Early life and career Born in Brooklyn, the son of a beer truck driver, Mordente went to dance school at the age of thirteen. He attended the High School of Performing Arts and won a scholarship to the American Ballet Theater School. There, he was discovered by the choreographer Michael Kidd, who cast him as Lonesome Polecat in the 1956 Broadway musical adaptation of the Al Capp comic strip ''Li'l Abner''. Noam Pitlik (November 4, 1932February 18, 1999) was an American television director and actor. In 1979, Pitlik won an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for his work on the ABC sitcom '' Barney Miller''. Early life The son of Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Pitlik, he was born in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Central High School, Gratz College, and Temple University.
