The Hyundai Tiburon (), known in Europe as the Hyundai Coupé (현대 쿠페), is a sports car, sports Coupé, coupe that was produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai from 1996 to 2008. The name "Tiburon", a slight variation of "tiburón", the Spanish language, Spanish word for "shark", is the name given to the North American, Australian, New Zealand, South African, and Austrian production of the vehicle. It was known as the Hyundai Coupe in some European markets and Indonesia. It had been branded as the Turbulence (터뷸런스) and Tuscani (투스카니) in the home South Korean market. The model had been released in two generations (RC) over its lifespan and in that time these generations have been subject to periodic facelifts. Power-to-weight ratio (PWR, also called specific power, or power-to-mass ratio) is a calculation commonly applied to engines and mobile power sources to enable the comparison of one unit or design to another. The Hyundai World Rally Team is a rally team competing in the World Rally Championship (WRC) as the official Hyundai entrant. Its team principal is Cyril Abiteboul, and its drivers in the 2025 season include Thierry Neuville, Ott Tanak and Adrien Fourmaux. Professor Peter Stevens (born 1943) is a British car designer. Stevens is one of the UK's best-known vehicle designers. He is currently a design consultant, teacher and lecturer. Stevens trained at Central St Martin's School of Art and then, the Royal College of Art. He began his career in the 1970s as a designer at Ford, then Ogle design. He also began his long career as a tutor of Vehicle Design students at the RCA at this time . He spent five years as chief designer at Lotus Cars in the 1980s, where he developed the Esprit revision and designed the Lotus Elan (M100). The World Rally Championship (abbreviated as WRC) is an international rallying series owned and governed by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, FIA. Inaugurated in 1973, it is the oldest FIA world championship after Formula One. Each season lasts one calendar year, and typically consists of 13 three- to four-day rally events driven on surfaces ranging from gravel and tarmac to snow and ice.
