Hyatt Hotels Corporation, commonly known as Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, is an American multinational corporation, multinational hospitality company headquartered in the 150 North Riverside, Riverside Plaza area of Chicago that manages and franchises luxury and business hotels, resorts, and vacation properties. Hyatt Hotels & Resorts is one of the businesses managed by the Pritzker family. Hyatt has more than 1350 hotels and all-inclusive properties in 69 countries, across South America, North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Summerfield Suites
Summerfield Suites was an extended stay hotel chain. It was bought by Hyatt and folded within that company in 2012. All Summerfield Suites Hotels are now branded as Hyatt House hotels. History In June 2005, the Blackstone Group acquired Wyndham International for $3.2 billion. Summerfield Suites, Wyndham's extended-stay offering, was included in the deal. On December 1, 2005, Global Hyatt confirmed that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the 21-hotel Summerfield Suites brand from Blackstone for an undisclosed price. The deal concluded in early 2006, and closely followed Hyatt's acquisition of AmeriSuites – now re-branded as Hyatt Place. AmeriSuites Hotels was an American hotel chain last owned by Hyatt, which merged it into its Hyatt House brand. History It was founded by Mark Yale Harris, cofounder of Red Roof Inns. In 1991, Harris founded AmeriSuites Hotels. AmeriSuites was an innovator in offering one of the first available affordable suite accommodations. It grew to over 100 locations throughout the United States. In 1998, AmeriSuites was sold to the Blackstone Group, who operated AmeriSuites under its Prime Hospitality division. Mark Samuel Hoplamazian (born November 27, 1963) is an Armenian American businessman, who has been the president and CEO of Hyatt Hotels Corporation since December 2006. Through marriage he is a member of the Kohler family. Early life Hoplamazian was born on November 27, 1963 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to Harry (1924-1977) and Victoria (née Sarkisian) Hoplamazian (1924-2022). The Standard Hotels is a worldwide chain of twelve boutique hotels operated by Standard International Management. The chain was established in 1999.Its two original properties, in Hollywood and Los Angeles, closed in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
