''Hunting Season'' ( es, Temporada de Caza) is a 2017 Argentine drama film directed by Natalia Garagiola. It was screened in the International Critics' Week section of the 74th Venice International Film Festival where it won the SIAE Audience Award. Plot A teenager with aggressive and violent behavior is forced, after the death of his mother, to spend a few months with his biological father in the forests of Patagonia. His father, whom he has not seen 10 years ago, is a hunter and has another family. In San Martín de los Andes, the place where his father resides, he must confront his own capacity to love and to kill. The 74th annual Venice International Film Festival was held from 30 August to 9 September 2017. The jury president was announced as the actress Annette Bening on 5 July 2017. '' Downsizing'', directed by Alexander Payne, was selected to open the festival. San Martín De Los Andes
San Martín de los Andes is a city in the south-west of the , serving as the administration centre of the Lácar Department. Lying at the foot of the Andes, on the Lácar lake, it is considered one of the main tourism destinations in the province. The National Route 40 runs to the city, connecting it with important touristic points in the south of the province, such as Lanín and Nahuel Huapí national parks. The city was founded in 1898 as a military outpost to secure the Argentinian sovereignty over the area. Lautaro (Anglicized as 'Levtaru') ( arn, Lef-Traru " swift hawk") (; 1534? – April 29, 1557) was a young Mapuche toqui known for leading the indigenous resistance against Spanish conquest in Chile and developing the tactics that would continue to be employed by the Mapuche during the long-running Arauco War. Levtaru was captured by Spanish forces in his early youth, and he spent his teenage years as a personal servant of chief conquistador Pedro de Valdivia, but escaped in 1551.
