Hungarian Cultural Days Of Cluj
The Hungarian Cultural Days of Cluj (; ) is the largest Hungarian festival in Transylvania. It occurs annually on 19 August, being the date when Cluj-Napoca () reached city status, and on 20 August, king St. Stephen's day, as well as the whole week around these. The cultural city days have been held from 2010 on, being organized by the Treasure Cluj Association () and its partner organizations. The participants can choose from guided tours, exhibitions, book launches, commemorations, theater plays, movies, fair, food tasting, drinks workshop, classical and contemporary concerts, parties, activities for youth, family and children, board game circles, ancient tents, handicraft workshops, as well as literary, artistic, historical, social and other conversations, that run simultaneously in a large number of locations. Cluj-Napoca ( ; ), or simply Cluj ( , ), is a city in northwestern Romania. It is the second-most populous city in the country and the seat of Cluj County. Geographically, it is roughly equidistant from Bucharest (), Budapest () and Belgrade (). Located in the Someșul Mic river valley, the city is considered the unofficial capital of the Historical regions of Romania, historical province of Transylvania. Stephen I Of Hungary
Stephen I, also known as King Saint Stephen ( ; ; ; 975 – 15 August 1038), was the last grand prince of the Hungarians between 997 and 1000 or 1001, and the first king of Hungary from 1000 or 1001 until his death in 1038. The year of his birth is uncertain, but many details of his life suggest that he was born in, or after, 975, in Esztergom. He was given the pagan name Vajk at birth, but the date of his baptism is unknown. He was the only son of Grand Prince Géza, Grand Prince of the Hungarians, Géza and his wife, Sarolt, who was descended from a prominent family of ''Gyula (title), gyulas''. Although both of his parents were baptized, Stephen was the first member of Árpád dynasty, his family to become a devout Christian. The Hungarian minority of Romania (, ; ) is the largest Minorities of Romania, ethnic minority in Romania.
