Hridayananda das(a) Goswami (IAST: ; title: Acaryadeva IAST'': ''; birth name: Howard J. Resnick; date of birth: November 5, 1948, Los Angeles, California) is an American Vaishnava leader and preacher, one of the leading spiritual leaders of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and one of the most distinguished disciples and close friend of ISKCON founder Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who appointed him as preacher. H.D. Goswami is a guru and member of the ISKCON Governing Body Commission since 1974. Early life and education Howard Resnick was born on November 5, 1948, in Los Angeles, California. His maternal grandmother was from Vilnius, Lithuania. He entered the University of California at Berkeley in 1967. In 1992, H.D. Vaishnavism () ), also called Vishnuism, is one of the major Hindu denominations, Hindu traditions, that considers Vishnu as the sole Para Brahman, supreme being leading all other Hindu deities, that is, ''Mahavishnu''. The ''Journal of Vaishnava Studies'' is a biannual academic journal that was established in 1992 by Steven J. Rosen (Satyaraja Dasa), and is currently published by the Institute for Vaishnava Studies. It is a peer-reviewed, and curated journal dedicated to scholarly research associated with Vishnu-related traditions. In 2002, the journal affiliated with Christopher Newport University and with A.
