Hopvatnet
Hopvatnet is a lake in the municipality of Steigen in Nordland county, Norway. The lake lies about northeast of the village of Nordfold. The lake is located just above sea level and it empties into the nearby Nordfolda branch of the Folda fjord. Steigen
Steigen ('stejgen) is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional district of Salten. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Leinesfjord. Other villages include Bogen, Leines, Nordfold, Nordskot, and Sørskot. Engeløy Airport, Grådussan is located in the northern part of the municipality. Måløy–Skarholmen Lighthouse is located in the Vestfjorden in the western part of the municipality. The only road access to the municipality is via the Steigen Tunnel. The municipality is the 114th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Steigen is the 246th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 2,591. Nordfold
Nordfold is a village in Steigen Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The village of Nordfold lies along the Nordfolda, a northern branch of the main Folda fjord. It lies about east of the municipal centre of Leinesfjorden. It is the location of the Nordfold Church. History The village was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Nordfold which existed from 1906 until 1964. Nordfolda
The Folda or Folla is a fjord in Nordland county, Norway. The fjord is located in the municipalities of Bodø, Steigen, and Sørfold. The Folda empties into the Vestfjorden about northeast of the town of Bodø. The fjord is about wide in the west where it joins the Vestfjorden between the Kjerringøy and Leiranger peninsulas. The Folda fjord has many fjord arms which split off from the main fjord. There are two main inland branches: the Nordfolda (in Steigen Municipality) and the Sørfolda (in Bodø and Sørfold municipalities).
