Honokaa High
Honokaa High & Intermediate School is a public, co-educational high school and middle school of the Hawaii State Department of Education. It serves grades seven through twelve and was established in 1889. It was added to the Hawaiʻi Register of Historic Places in 2002 under its former name, Honokaa High & Elementary School. General information Honokaa High & Intermediate School is located in Honokaa, Hawaii, Honokaa in Hawaii County on the Hawaii (island), Island of Hawaii. The campus is at coordinates , 45-527 Pakalana Street, on both the same side, and across the street from Honokaa Elementary School, one of its three feeder schools. Poncie Ponce
Poncie Ponce (born Ponciano Tabac Ponce; April 10, 1933 – July 19, 2013) was an American actor, musician and stand-up comedian. Born in Maui, Hawaii, he moved to Los Angeles, where from 1959 to 1963 he played the role of cab driver Kazuo Kim in the Warner Bros. detective series ''Hawaiian Eye'' on the ABC television network. In 1961, Ponce was at the forefront of a growing national interest in martial arts when he opened a karate studio in North Hollywood. The ''Honolulu Star-Bulletin'' was a daily newspaper based in Honolulu, Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. At the time publication ceased on June 6, 2010, it was the second largest daily newspaper in the state of Hawaii (after the ''Honolulu Advertiser''). 2000 NFL Draft
The 2000 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur U.S. college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 15– 16, 2000, at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. No teams chose to claim any players in the supplemental draft that year. Nelson Doi
Nelson Kiyoshi Doi (, January 1, 1922 – May 16, 2015), was the sixth lieutenant governor of Hawaii from 1974 to 1978 in the first elected administration of Governor George Ariyoshi. Doi was a member of the Hawaii Democratic Party. Early and legislative years Doi grew up in Hilo and Kawaihae on the island of Hawai'i and attended Honoka'a High School. He went on to attend the University of Hawaii, where he was president of the Associated Students of the University of Hawaii from December 1944 to June 1945. Doi began his political career at the 1950 Hawaii State Constitutional Convention that drafted the first state laws for Hawaii that went into effect in 1959. During that Convention, Doi noted "a frustration that began to ferment" amongst the delegates.
