Hold On (Loft Song)
"Hold On" is a song recorded by German group Loft, released in November 1993 by RCA as the second single from the group's first album, ''Wake the World'' (1994). Written by Courtney Williams, Nosie Katzmann and Richard Williams, the song features vocals by American singer Kim Sanders. Becoming one of the group's most successful singles, it reached number two on the Canadian ''RPM'' Dance/Urban chart and was a top 10 hit also in Israel (8), while entering the top 20 in Denmark (13) and Finland (19). Additionally, it was a top 30 hit in Austria (26), Germany (21) and Switzerland (30). On the Eurochart Hot 100, "Hold On" peaked at number 54 in January 1994. Its accompanying music video was directed by Barry Maguire and made mostly in black-and-white, but some scenes also have a sepia tone. The GfK Entertainment charts are the official music charts in Germany and are gathered and published by GfK Entertainment (formerly Media Control and Media Control GfK International), a subsidiary of GfK, on behalf of Bundesverband Musikindustrie. GfK Entertainment is the provider of weekly Top 100 single and album charts, as well as various other chart formats for genres like compilations, jazz, classical music, schlager, hip hop, dance, comedy, and music videos. Captain Hollywood Project is a German eurodance music project best known for the hits “ More and More," " Only with You" and " Flying High." At the peak of its success in the 1990s, the project achieved ten top-20 hits on European music charts. The project was first formed in 1990 in Nuremberg, Germany by rapper/singer, dancer and music producer Tony Dawson-Harrison (a.k.a. Captain Hollywood). When first naming the project, Harrison chose the name 'Captain Hollywood Project' in order to distinguish his new music for the project from his music from previous years.
