Hofstra Pride Women's Soccer
The Hofstra Pride (formerly the Hofstra Flying Dutchmen) are composed of 17 teams representing Hofstra University in intercollegiate athletics, including men and women’s basketball, cross-country running, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis and track and field. Men’s sports include baseball and wrestling. Women’s sports include volleyball, field hockey, and softball. The Pride compete in the NCAA Division I and have been members of the Colonial Athletic Association in most sports since 2001. They were previously members of the America East Conference. Until 2001, Hofstra's nickname was the Flying Dutchmen (shortened to simply "Dutchmen" or "Dutch"), an homage to the Dutch heritage of university founder William S. Hofstra. Hofstra University is a Private university, private research university in Hempstead, New York, United States. Hofstra Pride Men's Soccer
The Hofstra Pride men's soccer team represents Hofstra University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The Pride play in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). The program has a notable history of achievements and distinguished players. The team has participated in eight NCAA Tournaments, reaching the second round in 2004, 2006, 2015, and 2021, and advancing to the Sweet Sixteen in 2021. They have hosted four NCAA Tournament home games and secured six NCAA Tournament victories. In 2021, the team recorded a school record of 18 victories and finished eighth in the final NCAA RPI rankings. Christopher James Weidman (born June 17, 1984) is an American professional mixed martial artist. He competed in the Middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is a former UFC Middleweight Champion. An accomplished amateur wrestler, Weidman was a two-time NJCAA All-American and a two-time NCAA Division I All-American during his collegiate career. NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships
The NCAA Division I Men's Wrestling Championships have been held since 1928. In addition to determining the national champion in each weight class, the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships also determines All-American wrestlers for each weight. The top eight finishers in each weight class earn All-American status. The top four teams earn podium and team trophy finishes. Since 1934, team scoring officially became a permanent feature of the NCAA Wrestling Championships. In 1928 and from 1931–1933, there was only an unofficial team title. The 2022 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was the 75th edition of the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. The 64-team tournament began on Friday, June 3 as part of the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season and concluded with the 2022 Men's College World Series, 2022 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, which started on June 17 and ended on June 27. The NCAA Division I Baseball Championship is held each year from May through June and features 64 college baseball teams in the United States, culminating in the eight-team Men's College World Series (MCWS) at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. The Town of Hempstead is the largest of the three towns in Nassau County (alongside North Hempstead and Oyster Bay) on Long Island, in New York, United States. University Field (Hofstra)
University Field is a baseball venue in Hempstead, New York, United States. It is home to the Hofstra Pride baseball team of the NCAA Division I Colonial Athletic Association. The facility has a capacity of 400 spectators. The field features a Competition Turf artificial surface in the infield and a natural grass surface in the outfield. Renovations In the 1990s and 2000s, the facility underwent several renovations. In 1990, a new, wooden outfield wall was constructed. In 1991, new dugouts were added, foul territory fencing was replaced, and fencing was built around the bullpens. In 2002 and 2003, 70-foot sunken dugouts with fencing were constructed.
