Ryan Crocker
Ryan Clark Crocker (born June 19, 1949) is a retired American diplomat who served as a career ambassador within the United States Foreign Service. A recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, he served as United States ambassador to Afghanistan (2011–2012), Iraq (2007–2009), Pakistan (2004–2007), Syria (1998–2001), Kuwait (1994–1997), and Lebanon (1990–1993). In January 2010, he became dean of Texas A&M University's George Bush School of Government and Public Service. The People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (, abbr. MPLA), from 1977–1990 called the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola – Labour Party (), is an Angolan social democratic political party. The MPLA fought against the Portuguese Army in the Angolan War of Independence from 1961 to 1974, and defeated the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) and the National Liberation Front of Angola (FNLA) in the Angolan Civil War. Edmund DeJarnette
Edmund Tompkins DeJarnette, Jr. (January 15, 1938 – April 6, 2015) was an American diplomat. A career Foreign Service Officer, he held a variety of ambassadorships. He was the American Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Central African Republic (1983-1986), Tanzania (1990-1992) and was Director in Angola from 1992 until he was promoted to Ambassador in 1994. He was the first U.S. Ambassador to Angola and served until 1995. DeJarnette was born on January 15, 1938. A native of Richmond, Virginia, he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School in 1963. (He also has a bachelor's degree in English from U.Va. and a master's degree in public administration from George Washington University. William Edwin Ryerson (born December 10, 1936) is an American former diplomat who was a career Foreign Service Officer.
