Hill of Beath Hawthorn Football Club are a Scottish football club from Hill of Beath, near Cowdenbeath, Fife. Formed in 1975, they play their home games at Keir's Park. Their colours are red with white flashes. They currently compete in the , having moved from the SJFA East Super League in 2018. History The club played in the Kirkcaldy and District Amateur league until 1982 when they joined the Fife Junior League. The Haws won the Fife League eight times before becoming founding members of the East Region Super League in 2002. They spent all but one year in the Super League and finished runners-up three times, prior to their move to the East of Scotland League in 2018. A year later the club become full members of the Scottish Football Association, allowing them to enter the Scottish Cup for the first time in 2019–20, and also joined the Fife FA which enables them to compete in the Fife Cup. Hill Of Beath
Hill of Beath ((; ) is a hill and a village in Fife, Scotland, just outside Dunfermline and joined to Cowdenbeath. On 16 June 1670 the Hill of Beath was the location of a celebrated meeting of the Covenanters at which preachers John Blackadder and John Dickson officiated. It was described as "a great gathering of persons who came from the east of Fife and as far West as Stirling". At that conventicle, during the height of the struggle against episcopal rule, the Covenanters brought swords and pistols to defend themselves against attack. The village at this location was built and owned by the Fife Coal Company, which rented the cottages to the miners for the duration of their employment in the mine. In 1896 the village population was about 1,300. As an experiment, a public house was started in June 1896 using the Gothenburg system, with any profits to be used for public works. Jason Dair
Jason Dair (born 15 June 1974) is a Scottish football coach and former professional player who played as a midfielder or full-back now the manager of Dundonald Bluebell. Dair had a spell as caretaker manager at Cowdenbeath, after former manager Colin Nish was sacked in May 2016. Dair also managed East of Scotland team Dundonald Bluebell before taking up a coaching role at Dunfermline Athletic. After a short time away Jason came back into management at East of Scotland side Hill of Beath where he was the manager before joining his brother Lee Dair at Inverkeithing as part of the management team in May 2023. Now in March 2024 he has return to assist Stevie Crawford at Cowdenbeath until end of the season. The 2018–19 East of Scotland Football League (known as the Central Taxis East of Scotland League for sponsorship reasons) was the 90th season of the East of Scotland Football League, and the 5th season as the sixth tier of the Scottish football pyramid system. The season began on 11 August 2018 and ended on 18 May 2019. Kelty Hearts were the reigning champions but could not defend their title after being promoted to the Lowland Football League. The league saw an increase from 13 to 39 teams and was split into three parallel conferences, each containing 13 teams. Daniel Baur (born 6 May 1999) is a Scottish association football, footballer, who plays for Hill of Beath Hawthorn F.C., Hill of Beath Hawthorn. Baur came through Heart of Midlothian F.C., Hearts youth system and made his first team debut in November 2017. He was loaned to Albion Rovers F.C., Albion Rovers in January 2018, and Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic F.C., Bonnyrigg Rose in July 2019. He was released by Hearts in May 2020. Baur signed for Spartans F.C., Spartans shortly after his release from Hearts. Linlithgow Rose F.C., Linlithgow Rose signed Baur on loan in October 2021, which was later turned into a permanent deal on 23 November 2021. Kennoway is a village in Fife, Scotland, near the larger population centres in the area of Leven and Methil. It had an estimated population of in . It is about three miles inland from the Firth of Forth, north of Leven. Kelty (Scottish Gaelic: Cailtidh) is a former coal mining village located in Fife, Scotland. Lying in the heart of the old mining heartlands of Fife, it is situated on the Fife/ Kinross-shire boundary and has a population of around 6,000 residents. This was nearer to 9,000 when the coal mining industry was still operational in late 1970s and early 1980s. Origins The origin of the name of the village is somewhat obscure.
