"Higher" is a song written by Johan Fjellström, Joakim Udd and Johan Becker, and performed by Star Pilots at Melodifestivalen 2009. The song was performed in the 4th semifinal inside the Malmö Arena on 28 February 2009, and went further to Andra chansen where it ended up knocked out. The single record, single peaked at number 6 on the Sverigetopplistan, Swedish singles chart. Several newspaper readers in Sweden blamed the song for being similar to the 1988 Boy Meets Girl (band), Boy Meets Girl song "Waiting For a Star to Fall" and the 2008 Jenny Pettersson, Jenny "Velvet" Petterssons song "Take My Body Close" as well as Survivor (band), Survivors' 1982 song "Eye of the Tiger". Star Pilots is a Sweden, Swedish pop music, pop group with Johan Becker, a contestant on Swedish television show ''Fame Factory'' and former member of the Swedish duo The Wallstones as lead singer. The group's debut single, "In the Heat of the Night", was released in the United Kingdom on 18 May 2009, having already peaked at number 2 in the group's home country in Sweden, in 2008. The song's video features the band dressed as pilots with similarities to the 1980s film ''Top Gun'' (half-naked beach volleyball) and with five female dancers, including model Francesca Hoffman and ''Playboy'' model Louise Glover. Boy Meets Girl is an American pop-music duo consisting of keyboardist and vocalist George Merrill and singer Shannon Rubicam. They are best known for their hit song " Waiting for a Star to Fall" from 1988 and for writing two of Whitney Houston's number one hits: " How Will I Know" and " I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)". "Eye of the Tiger" is a song by the American rock band Survivor. It was written as the theme song for the 1982 film ''Rocky III'' and released that year as a single from Survivor's third album, '' Eye of the Tiger''. Sylvester Stallone, the director and star of ''Rocky III'', enlisted Survivor after Queen denied him permission to use their song "Another One Bites the Dust". Survivor derived lyrics, including the title, from dialogue in the film, and conceived a riff with chord changes to match the punches in the boxing scenes. "Eye of the Tiger" reached number one on the charts of many countries. Survivor was an American Rock music, rock band formed in Chicago in 1978 by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan. The band achieved commercial success in the 1980s with five top ten singles in the United States. The band is best known for their 1982 hit "Eye of the Tiger", the theme song for the film ''Rocky III'' which spent Hot 100 number-one hits of 1982 (United States), six weeks at number one in the US. Dave Bickler was the band's vocalist from 1978 to 1983, appearing on the band's first four albums. He left the band after a vocal injury and was replaced by Jimi Jamison in 1984. Jenny Marielle Pettersson (born 5 November 1975, Helsingborg, Sweden), professionally known as Velvet, is a Swedish dance-pop singer. She has released two albums since her 2005 debut in the music industry and her first eight singles have all achieved a top-twenty peak on the Swedish Singles Chart. Early life Velvet moved from Helsingborg to Stockholm in 1993 to study ballet at Balettakademien. She soon took singing lessons at a dance school where she "got a voice". It was formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and has been known by its current name since October 2007. Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list.
