High School Ice Hockey In Delaware
Delaware has 12 high schools with varsity ice hockey teams which participate in interscholastic competition. Unlike most other high school sports in the state, ice hockey is not sanctioned under the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association. The state's main ice hockey league, the Delaware Scholastic Hockey Association, is sanctioned by USA Hockey. Format All teams in Delaware play in the Delaware Scholastic Hockey Association, with the exception of Delaware Military Academy and Salesianum high school who plays in the AAA league in Pennsylvania's Inter County Scholastic Hockey League. Tatnall School
The Tatnall School is a private college-preparatory school in unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware; it has a Wilmington postal address and is adjacent to, but not in, the Greenville census-designated place. The school is for students from two years old through 12th grade. Salesianum School is a Catholic independent school for boys located in Wilmington, Delaware. It is run independently within the Diocese of Wilmington and is operated by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales. The current enrollment is about 930 students, declining from a peak of about 1,100 in recent years, from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The Delaware Military Academy (DMA) is a publicly-funded charter high school in unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware and has a Wilmington postal address. The Academy was founded in 2003 by Charles Baldwin, a retired Master Chief Petty Officer from the United States Navy, and Jack Wintermantel, a retired Colonel from the United States Army.
