Henrik Kristoffersen (born 2 July 1994) is a Norwegian FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, World Cup Alpine skiing, alpine ski racer, FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2019 – Men's giant slalom, World Champion, and Alpine skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics – Men's slalom, Olympic medalist. He specializes in the technical events of Slalom skiing, slalom and giant slalom. Rælingen is a village and Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Akershus Counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is part of the Districts of Norway, traditional region of Romerike. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Fjerdingby. Rælingen was separated from the municipality of Fet, Norway, Fet on 1 July 1929. Slalom is an alpine skiing and alpine snowboarding discipline, involving skiing between poles or gates. These are spaced more closely than those in giant slalom, super-G, super giant slalom and Downhill (ski competition), downhill, necessitating quicker and shorter turns. 2018 Alpine Skiing World Cup – Men's Overall
The men's overall in the 2018 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup involved 36 events in 5 disciplines: downhill (DH) (9 races), Super-G (SG) (6 races), giant slalom (GS) (8 races), slalom (SL) (11 races), and Alpine combined (AC) (2 races). Marcel Hirscher of Austria won the overall title for the seventh consecutive time. Although Hirscher had broken his ankle in August, prior to the start of the season, he clinched the title a full two weeks before the season finals in Åre, Sweden. In so doing, Hirscher extended his own record of six consecutive overall World Cup titles, which he had set the season before, and set the all-time record with seven overall , as the prior record was six, set by Annemarie Moser-Pröll in 1978-79. FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2021
The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2021 were held from 8 to 21 February in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. In May 2020, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) and the event organizing committee asked the International Ski Federation (FIS) to postpone the event until 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the request was rejected by FIS, and the organizers then moved forward with plans for 2021. The host city was selected at the FIS Congress in Cancún, Mexico, on 10 June 2016. Cortina d'Ampezzo was the only applicant, and had been a finalist for the previous two championships. Cortina previously hosted the world championships in 1932 and 1956 ( Winter Olympics) and has held numerous World Cup events; the Tofane is a regular stop for women's speed events in January. The 47th FIS Alpine World Ski Championships took place from 6 to 19 February 2023 in two neighboring locations in the French Alps, Courchevel and Méribel. The location was decided in May 2018 during the 51st FIS Congress in Costa Navarino (Greece), where Courchevel-Méribel won against Austrian Saalbach-Hinterglemm with 9 to 6 votes. The same two towns already hosted parts of the 1992 Winter Olympic Games. In Courchevel, ski jumping and the Nordic combination took place, and Méribel was the location for the women's alpine skiing. The men's giant slalom competition of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics was held on 18 February 2018 at the Yongpyong Alpine Centre at the Alpensia Sports Park in PyeongChang. Qualification A total of up to 320 alpine skiers qualified across all eleven events. Athletes qualified for this event by having met the A qualification standard, which meant having 140 or less FIS Points and being ranked in the top 500 in the Olympic FIS points list or meeting the B standard, which meant 140 or less FIS points. Countries not meeting the A standard were allowed to enter a maximum of one B standard athlete per gender.
