Helter Skelter (Manson Scenario)
The Helter Skelter scenario is an apocalyptic vision that was supposedly embraced by Charles Manson and members of Manson Family, his so-called Family. At the trial of Manson and three others for the Tate–LaBianca murders, the prosecution presented it as motivating the crimes and as an aspect of the case for conspiracy. Via interviews and autobiographies, former Family members related what they had witnessed and experienced of it. In both the trial and his subsequent (1974) book, ''Helter Skelter (book), Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders'', prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi presented evidence that, in a period that preceded the murders, Manson prophesied what he called ''Helter Skelter'', an apocalyptic war that would arise from racial tensions between Black people, black and white people. Charles Manson
Charles Milles Manson (; November 12, 1934 – November 19, 2017) was an American criminal, cult leader, and musician who led the Manson Family, a cult based in California in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Some cult members committed a Manson Family#Crimes, series of at least nine murders at four locations in July and August 1969. In 1971, Manson was convicted of Murder in California law, first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the Tate–LaBianca murders, deaths of seven people, including the film actress Sharon Tate. The prosecution contended that, while Manson never directly ordered the murders, his ideology constituted an overt Criminal conspiracy, act of conspiracy. Linda Kasabian
Linda Darlene Kasabian (; June 21, 1949 – January 21, 2023) was an American woman known for being a member of the Manson Family, a cult led by Charles Manson in late-1960searly-1970s California. She was present at both the Tate–LaBianca murders committed by the cult members in 1969, but received legal immunity for her testimony as a key witness in District Attorney Vincent Bugliosi's prosecution of Manson and his followers. Catherine Share
Catherine Louise "Gypsy" Share (born December 10, 1942) is an American criminal who is known as a former member of the Manson Family; she was convicted of witness intimidation in relation to the 1970 trial of the Tate-LaBianca murders. In 1971 she was convicted of armed robbery and served five years. Share was not directly involved in the Tate-LaBianca murders, for which Charles Manson and some of his followers were convicted and originally sentenced to death. She served 90 days for witness intimidation. Following her release from prison in 1975, Share disassociated herself from the "Family". She has spoken publicly about her experiences with them. Tex Watson
Charles Denton "Tex" Watson (born December 2, 1945) is an American mass murderer who was a central member of the "Manson Family" led by Charles Manson. Watson is often described as the tactical ringleader of the Tate-LaBianca murders on August 9–10, 1969, when Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Susan Atkins murdered pregnant actress Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Wojciech Frykowski, Abigail Folger, and Steven Parent at 10050 Cielo Drive in Benedict Canyon, Los Angeles. The next night, Watson traveled to Los Feliz, Los Angeles, and participated in the murders of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca. Watson was convicted of murder in 1971 and sentenced to death.
