Heerlen Railway Station
Heerlen is a railway station located in Heerlen, Netherlands. History The station was opened on 1 May 1896 and is located on the Sittard–Herzogenrath railway and the . The station was an important mining station, until the mines closed down. As part of the ''Maankwartier'' ("Moon Quarter") project, construction of an entirely new train station started in December 2012. Doenrade
Doenrade is a village in the southern Dutch province of Limburg. Historically its name has also been spelled Dudenrode and Doenradt and was along a main trade route between Germany and southern Limburg. Until 1982 it was a part of the municipality of Oirsbeek but was transferred to the municipality of Schinnen. In 2019 that municipality merged with Onderbanken and Nuth to form Beekdaelen. Jabeek (Limburgish: ''Jaobik'', English: Yescreek) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Beekdaelen, on the German border about 8 km east of Geleen. Jabeek borders on the German village . History The village was first mentioned in 1144 as "apud Iabeche". The etymology is unclear. Jabeek developed in the Early Middle Ages as a cultivation village. The Catholic St Gertrudis is a three-aisled basilica-like church with a needle spire. The tower was built in the 15th century. Ubach over Worms () is a former municipality located in the southeast of the Netherlands, in the province of Limburg. In 1982 it was incorporated into the new municipality of Landgraaf along with Schaesberg and Nieuwenhagen. The German name for this part of Landgraaf is "Waubach". Gulpen
Gulpen (; ) is a village in the Netherlands, Dutch province of Limburg (Netherlands), Limburg. It is approximately midway between the Dutch city of Maastricht and the German city of Aachen. Gulpen was a separate municipality until 1999, when it merged with Wittem. The newly formed municipality is called Gulpen-Wittem. The village itself derives its name from the river Gulp River, Gulp, which runs straight through the centre of the village and characterises the townscape. Simpelveld (; ) is a municipality and a town in the southeastern Netherlands. It is part of the municipal cooperative unit Parkstad Limburg. Hoensbroek () is a Dutch town in the municipality of Heerlen. It is situated in the southeast of Limburg (Netherlands), Limburg, a province in the southeast of the Netherlands. Until 1982, Hoensbroek was a separate municipality. Hoensbroek is known for its medieval castle, Hoensbroek Castle, Kasteel Hoensbroek, named after Knight Hoen, a member of the Hoen Family. Vaesrade
Vaesrade (; ) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Beekdaelen. The village was first mentioned in 1139 as Wastrode. The etymology is unclear, but contrary to popular belief there is no relation to Servatius of Tongeren. The first church was built in 1856. In 1929, the St Servatius Church was built in expressionist style and has a square tower next to the entrance. In 1840, Vaesrade was home to 198 people. Nuth (; ) is a village and a former Municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the province of Limburg, situated in the southern Netherlands. In January 2019, the municipality merged with Schinnen and Onderbanken to form Beekdaelen.
