Heart Trouble (1928 Film)
''Heart Trouble'' is a 1928 American silent comedy film starring Harry Langdon and Doris Dawson. It is Langdon's final silent film and his last feature-length one. First National Pictures was preparing to fire Langdon. Reportedly less than a hundred prints were made and it went into only limited release, even though the reviews were good. It is presumed to be lost. Plot A young man tries to enlist in the United States Army for World War I, but is rejected as physically unfit. Harry Langdon
Henry Philmore "Harry" Langdon (June 15, 1884 – December 22, 1944) was an American actor and comedian who appeared in vaudeville, silent films (where he had his greatest fame), and talkies.Obituary ''Variety Obituaries, Variety'', December 27, 1944, page 39. Life and career Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Langdon began working in medicine shows and stock companies while in his teens. In 1906, he entered vaudeville with his first wife, Rose Langdon. By 1915, he had developed a sketch named "Johnny's New Car", on which he performed variations in the years that followed. In 1923, he joined Principal Pictures Corporation, a company headed by producer Sol Lesser. He eventually went to Mack Sennett#Move to Pathé Exchange, The Mack Sennett Studios, where he became a major star. Edythe Chapman
Edythe Chapman (October 8, 1863 – October 15, 1948) was an American stage and silent film actress. Career Born in Rochester, New York, Chapman began her stage career as early as 1898 when she appeared in New York City in ''The Charity Ball''. Chapman played maternal roles in numerous silent motion pictures and became known in the 1920s as ''Hollywood's Mother''. She played ''Ma Jones'' in the film version of '' Lightnin''' (1925), a screen production that featured Will Rogers. Edythe was ''Grandmother Janeway'' in ''Man Crazy'' (1927). The film starred Dorothy Mackaill and Jack Mulhall. Chapman came to Hollywood around 1909 with her husband, screen and stage actor James Neill. The two met in Cincinnati when Chapman was working in Neill's stock company. The couple got married in 1897 and soon began making movies with Cecil B. Bob Reeves (actor)
Robert Reeves (January 28, 1892 – April 12, 1960) was an American Western movie actor. Early years Robert Jasper Reeves was born in Marlin, Texas, the son of George Patton Reeves and Frances Luella Garrett, in 1892. He attended Marlin High School and Texas A&M University. During World War I he served in the United States Army in the Coast Artillery in California, and was discharged in December, 1918. Career Reeves won championships in rodeo competition and worked as a stunt double for Universal Pictures before he became an actor. His film career began as early as 1919, when he starred in an 18-chapter serial, '' The Great Radium Mystery''. He appeared in a number of silent films and sixteen sound films. In 1921 he was teamed with Marion Aye in a series of 18 Cactus Features directed by Albert S. Rogell.
