Mahesh Joshi (born 14 September 1954) is an Indian politician from Rajasthan, affiliated with the Indian National Congress. He served as a Member of Parliament for Jaipur from 2009 to 2014, and as a Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly representing the Hawa Mahal Assembly constituency from 2018 to 2023. During the tenure of the Ashok Gehlot government (2018–2023), he served as the Minister of PHED and Ground Water and held the position of Chief Whip in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. 2018 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Election
Legislative Assembly elections were held in the Indian state of Rajasthan on 7 December 2018. The Indian National Congress became the single largest party with 100 seats, short of the majority by 1 seat. The Bharatiya Janata Party won 73 seats, much lower compared to the previous election, in which it won an absolute majority of 163 seats. Legislative Assembly elections were held in the Indian state of Rajasthan on 1 December 2013. Results were announced on 8 December. The incumbent ruling party Indian National Congress, led by the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, lost the elections to Vasundhara Raje-led BJP, who was being touted as the next incumbent. Pre-poll surveys Election Polling was held on 1 December in 198 assembly seats out of 200 seats. Churu constituency polling was postponed to 13 December due to death of BSP candidate Jagdish Meghwal. Brij Kishore Sharma
Brij Kishore Sharma (born c.1947) is an Indian former politician. He was born in 1947, the eldest son of Nawal Kishore Sharma, the Governor of Gujarat State (2004-2009), and Munni Devi. In 1968 he obtained a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Rajasthan Board of Technical Education. In 2008, Sharma contested the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections, as the Indian National Congress candidate, for the Hawa Mahal constituency. He polled 44,926 votes (41% of the total vote) winning the seat by a margin of 580 votes, defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, Manju Sharma, the daughter of Bhanwar Lal Sharma.
