Harry Armstrong (Australian Footballer)
Harry Armstrong (born 14 June 2006) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A mobile tall-forward, Armstrong was drafted in the first round of the 2024 AFL draft and made his debut early in the 2025 season. Early life and junior football Armstrong grew up in the south-eastern suburbs, playing junior football with Ormond, representative football for Sandringham Dragons and attending school at McKinnon Secondary and later Haileybury. While at Haileybury, he worked closely with three time Coleman Medal winner Matthew Lloyd to improve his goal kicking. He grew up supporting Geelong. He developed a staph infection in his hip in his second-last year of schooling, missing Haileybury's Associated Public Schools of Victoria grand final win over Caulfield Grammar in 2023. Sandringham Dragons
Sandringham Dragons is an Australian rules football club playing in the Talent League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. They are based at the Moorabbin Oval in Moorabbin, Victoria, representing the southern suburban area of Melbourne. Formed as Central Dragons, the club was one of the founding metropolitan clubs of the competition in 1992 as part of a plan by the Victorian State Football League to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs. This was to help aid in player development and the process of the AFL draft. The club was originally named the ''Central Dragons'' and Based at Princes Park in Caulfield South, Victoria. A tall intercepting defender, Trainor was drafted in the first round of the 2024 AFL draft and made his debut early in the 2025 season. Early life and junior football Trainor played junior representative football with the Sandringham Dragons and attended high school at Brighton Grammar School. In his early years he played primarily as a forward and a midfielder, only switching to defence in 2024. In 2022, Trainor represented the Victorian Metropolitan region at the national under 16 championships, where he was named in the tournament's All-Australian Team. In the summer of 2023/24, Trainor took part in the AFL Academy program, training with over the summer and being awarded best on ground in a special exhibition match against VFL team Coburg.
