Harland And Wolff Welders F.C.
Harland & Wolff Welders Football Club is a semi-professional, Northern Ireland, Northern Irish Association football, football club playing in the NIFL Championship. History The club, founded in 1965, hails from Belfast and played its home matches at Tillysburn Park in the East of the city. In October 2021 the H&W Welders moved from Tillysburn park into a redevelopment of Blanchflower Park Stadium costing over £5m with 3G pitches and new stands. A new stadium and facilities in the Danny Blanchflower Playing Fields was under construction by 2020, suitable for Premiership football. The club was formed by the welders of the nearby Harland & Wolff shipyard. The club's colours are amber and black to display the link with Harland & Wolff shipyard and its cranes. Northern Amateur Football League
The Northern Amateur Football League, also known as the Northern Amateur League and often simply as the Amateur League, is an association football league in Northern Ireland. It contains 13 divisions. These comprise four intermediate sections: the Premier Division, Division 1A, Division 1B and Division 1C; three junior sections: Division 2A, Division 2B and Division 2C; and six reserve sections. George Wilson Cup
The George Wilson Memorial Cup is a competition open to the reserve football teams of member clubs of the NIFL Premiership. Initially it was open to all members of the B Division, both "attached and unattached" (i.e. reserve sides and independent intermediate clubs), but since 1977–78 it has been limited to reserve sides only. History Founded in the 1952–53 season in memory of Crusaders official, George Wilson, the final has been traditionally held at Crusaders' home ground Seaview (with a few exceptions when matches have been held at Taylor's Avenue (Carrickfergus), Ballymena Showgrounds and Mourneview Park). The IFA Interim Intermediate League was a temporary league in Northern Ireland for one season only (2008–09), consisting of the former members of the IFA Intermediate League (dissolved in 2008) who did not meet the criteria for the new IFA Championship. Steel & Sons Cup
The Steel & Sons Cup (also referred to as the Steel Cup) is an intermediate football competition in Northern Ireland run by the North East Ulster Football Association (also known as the County Antrim & District Football Association). The competition culminates in the final which has traditionally been played on 25 December (except when this date falls on a Sunday). The 2006 final, however, broke with tradition when it was staged on the Saturday before 25 December as this was a closed date for all other football fixtures in Northern Ireland. The final returned to its original Christmas Day slot in 2007-08. The 2012–13 tournament was declared null after Glentoran II were stripped of their title having fielded an ineligible player in an earlier round.
