Hard-Ons
The Hard-Ons are an Australian punk rock band, that formed in 1982 in Punchbowl, New South Wales. Its founding members were Keish de Silva on lead vocals and drums, Peter "Blackie" Black on guitar and backing vocals, and Ray Ahn on bass guitar. The band issued five studio albums prior to their disbandment in 1994. The band reformed in 1997. In 2002, de Silva announced his departure from the band. He was replaced on drums by Front End Loader's Peter Kostic, while Black took over on lead vocals. Kostic was later replaced in turn by Conation drummer Murray Ruse in 2011. de Silva returned as a guest vocalist in 2014, and permanently rejoined the band in 2016. This version of the band would stay together for a further five years and one studio album, prior to de Silva's second departure in 2021. Front End Loader
Front End Loader are an Australian rock band which formed in December 1991 with founding mainstays, Bowden Campbell on guitar and vocals; Davis Claymore on lead vocals and guitar; Richard Corey on bass guitar; and Peter Kostic on drums. Front End Loader have issued six studio albums, ''Front End Loader'' (June 1993), ''Let's Ride!'' (March 1995), ''Last of the V8 Interceptors'' (August 1997), ''How Can We Fail When We're So Sincere?'' (March 2002), ''Ritardando'' (6 May 2011) and ''Neutral Evil'' (2018). Regurgitator
Regurgitator are an Australian alternative rock band from Brisbane, Queensland, formed in late 1993 by Quan Yeomans on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards; Ben Ely on bass guitar, keyboards and vocals; and Martin Lee on drums. Their debut studio album, '' Tu-Plang'' was released in May 1996; it was followed by '' Unit'' in November 1997 which was certified triple platinum. ''Unit'' won five categories at the ARIA Music Awards of 1998: Album of the Year, Best Alternative Album, Producer of the Year (for Magoo), Engineer of the Year (Magoo) and Best Cover Art (for The Shits). Nunchukka Superfly
Nunchukka Superfly are an Australian punk rock band from Sydney. It was formed by guitarist Peter Black and bass player Ray Ahn from Hard-Ons with Pete Allen of Massappeal on drums, just before the announcement of the Hard-Ons' break up, in late 1993. James McCann of the Sydney band Harpoon joined as vocalist in 1994. This version of the band recorded an album in mid-1995 that was never released. After performing at festivals such as Livid and the Big Day Out The Big Day Out (BDO) was an annual music festival that was held in five Australian cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth, as well as Auckland, New Zealand. Timothy Adrian Rogers (born September 20, 1969) is an Australian musician and actor, best known as the frontman of the rock band You Am I. He has also recorded solo albums with backing bands. As of July 2013, Rogers has released 12 albums with You Am I and five solo albums. Early life Born in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Rogers moved between towns multiple times during his adolescence, including Adelaide and Canberra. Following his primary school years in Applecross, a suburb of Perth, Rogers later became school captain at Sydney school Oakhill College. Rogers studied law at the Australian National University in Canberra, aged 18, though did not complete a degree. While at ANU, Rogers lived at Toad Hall residential accommodation, and worked part-time at Canberra Theatre. You Am I are an Australian power pop band, fronted by its lead singer-songwriter and guitarist, Tim Rogers. The Stupids (band)
The Stupids are an English hardcore punk band formed in the 1980s by Klute (artist), Tom Withers. Career Formed in Ipswich, England in the mid 1980s, The Stupids released four albums and six EPs, and recorded three List of Peel sessions, sessions for John Peel's BBC Radio, BBC BBC Radio 1, Radio 1 show in the 1980s, and toured the United States (with Ludichrist) and Australia (the Hard-Ons) as well as Europe, the United Kingdom, and, most recently, Japan. Henry Rollins
Henry Lawrence Garfield (born February 13, 1961), known professionally as Henry Rollins, is an American singer, writer, spoken word artist, actor, comedian, and presenter. After performing in the short-lived hardcore punk band State of Alert in 1980, Rollins fronted the California hardcore band Black Flag (band), Black Flag from 1981 to 1986. Following the band's breakup, he established the record label and publishing company 2.13.61 to release his spoken word albums, and formed the Rollins Band, which toured with a number of lineups from 1987 to 2003 and in 2006. Rollins has hosted numerous radio shows, such as ''Harmony in My Head'' on Indie 103, and television shows such as ''The Henry Rollins Show'' and ''120 Minutes''. "Let There Be Rock" is a song by Australian hard rock band AC/DC. It is the third and title track of their album ''Let There Be Rock'', released in March 1977, and was written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young, and Bon Scott. It was also released as a single, with a B-side of " Problem Child", in 1977. Composition The song provides an encapsulated, fictionalised version of the history of rock 'n' roll. Punchbowl is a suburb in the south west of Sydney, South-West of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. ''Long Way to the Top'' was a six-part weekly Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) documentary film series on the history of Australian rock and roll, from 1956 to the modern era, it was initially broadcast from 8 August to 12 September 2001. One of its writers, James Cockington, provided a book tie-in, ''Long Way to the Top: Stories of Australian Rock & Roll'' (2001). Another series writer, and interviewer, Clinton Walker, compiled a 2-disc CD soundtrack album, ''Long Way to the Top: Original Soundtrack from the ABC-TV Series'' (13 August 2001), by Various Artists, which featured in the show.
