Hans Jansen
Johannes Juliaan Gijsbert "Hans" Jansen (17 November 1942 – 5 May 2015) was a Dutch politician, scholar of contemporary Islam and author.

Hans Jansen belonged to the "Revisionist School of Islamic Studies, revisionists" in Islamic Studies, i.e. he fundamentally doubted the historicity of the Islamic traditions on early Islam which were written 150 to 200 years after Muhammad. Moreover, Jansen doubted the existence of Muhammad as a historical person.


Life and career

Hans Jansen's parents were strict Calvinism, Calvinists. At the age of 17, Jansen began studying theology at the University of Amsterdam, yet changed the subject after one year to Arabic and Semitic languages. Zacharias Jansen
Zacharias Janssen; also Zacharias Jansen or Sacharias Jansen; 1585 – pre-1632) was a Dutch spectacle-maker who lived most of his life in Middelburg. He is associated with the invention of the first optical telescope and/or the first truly compound microscope, but these claims (made 20 years after his death) may be fabrications put forward by his son. Biography Zacharias Janssen was born in The Hague. Local records seem to indicate he was born in 1585 although a date of birth as early as 1580 or as late as 1588 are also given. His parents were Hans MartensSource: a book by Huib J. Zuidervaart which is to be published in the spring of 2008. The in Middelburg has already been shown a first version of this book. XZ Utils Backdoor
In February 2024, a malware, malicious Backdoor (computing), backdoor was introduced to the Linux build of the XZ Utils, xz utility within the liblzma library in versions 5.6.0 and 5.6.1 by an account using the name "Jia Tan". The backdoor gives an attacker who possesses a specific Ed448 private key remote code execution through OpenSSH on the affected Linux system. The issue has been given the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures number and has been assigned a Common Vulnerability Scoring System, CVSS score of 10.0, the highest possible score. While xz is commonly present in most Linux distribution, Linux distributions, at the time of discovery the backdoored version had not yet been widely deployed to Deployment environment#Production, production systems, but was present in development versions of major distributions.
