Handia is a constituency of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly covering the city of Handia in the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Handia is one of five assembly constituencies in the Bhadohi Lok Sabha constituency. Since 2008, this assembly constituency is numbered 258 amongst 403 constituencies. Hakim Lal Bind is a Samajwadi Party leader who is an MLA from Handia Assembly constituency of Prayagraj district. Mr. Bind was first elected as a Bahujan Samaj Party, BSP candidate in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. He joined the Samajwadi Party in October 2021 due to differences with Mayawati and was on the Samajwadi Party ticket in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. The election to the 17th Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly was held from 11 February to 8 March 2017 in 7 phases. This election saw a voter turnout of 61.11% compared to 59.40% in the 2012 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, previous election.
