Hall Of Fame Open
The Hall of Fame Open is an international tennis tournament that has been held every year in July since 1976 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, the original location of the U.S. Open (tennis), U.S. National Championships. It was known as the ''Infosys Hall of Fame Open'' from 2023 until 2025. The event, which was part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit from 1976 to 1989, typically featured a 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles tournament. The tournament is held on outdoor grass courts, and is since 1988 the only grass court tournament played outside Europe. Up until 2011 Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, 2011, when John Isner won the tournament, the top seed had never triumphed at Newport, a trait that has led to the moniker "the Casino Curse", due to the location of the Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino. Mike Estep
Mike Estep (born July 19, 1949) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. During his career Estep won 2 singles titles and 7 doubles titles. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 59 in August 1973. In 1983 until 1986 he coached Martina Navratilova. Later he worked with Carling Bassett, Hana Mandlíková, Jana Novotná and Arantxa Sánchez Vicario. He was a board member of the Association of Tennis Professionals from 1982 to 1989, holding the position of chairman of the ATP ranking Committee at the same time. Stanley Roger Smith (born December 14, 1946) is an American former professional tennis player. A world No. 1 player and two-time major singles champion (at the 1971 US Open and 1972 Wimbledon Championships), Smith also paired with Bob Lutz to create one of the most successful doubles teams of all-time. Tim Gullikson
Timothy Ernest Gullikson (September 8, 1951 – May 3, 1996) was a tennis player and coach who was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin and grew up in Onalaska, Wisconsin in the United States. Gullikson was Pete Sampras' coach from 1992 to 1995. Tennis career In 1977, he won three tour singles titles and was named the ATP's Newcomer of the Year.
