Dieudonné LaMothe
Dieudonné LaMothe (born 29 July 1954) is a Haitian long-distance runner, the first sportsperson from his country to take part in four Olympic Games. Olympic Games LaMothe competed in the 5000 metres at the 1976 Summer Olympics and the marathon at the 1984, 1988 and 1992 Games. He finished last in the 5000 metres in 1976 and last again in the 1984 marathon, although in that case he nevertheless beat the 29 athletes who did not complete the course. LaMothe was one of a number of Haitian runners sent to the Olympic Games by the "Baby Doc" Duvalier regime during the 1970s and 1980s - mostly picked from among Duvalier's personal friends - who gained notoriety by setting record worst times, many of which are still held. Stefan Edberg
Jan Stefan Edberg (; born 19 January 1966) is a Swedish former professional tennis player. The women's foil was one of eight fencing events on the fencing at the 1984 Summer Olympics programme. It was the twelfth appearance of the event. The competition was held from 2 to 3 August 1984. 42 fencers from 18 nations competed. Competition format The 1984 tournament used a three-phase format similar to that of 1976 and 1980, though the final phase was different. The marathon (sport), men's marathon at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, was held on Sunday August 12, 1984. The race started at 5:00 pm local time. There were 107 competitors from 59 countries. The maximum number of athletes per nation had been set at 3 since the 1930 Olympic Congress. A total number of 78 athletes completed the race. The race was won by Carlos Lopes of Portugal at the 1984 Summer Olympics, Portugal, giving Portugal its first medal in the men's marathon, as well as its first ever gold medal at the Olympics. Ronald Agénor
Ronald Jean-Martin Agénor (born November 13, 1964) is a former professional tennis player who represented Haiti during his playing career. He is the only Haitian to have ever earned a Top 25 world ranking in singles, reaching a highest singles ranking of world No. 22 in May 1989. During his career he won three ATP tour singles titles. Early life and junior tennis Agénor was born on November 13, 1964, in Rabat, Morocco, the son of Frédéric Agénor, a former Haitian Diplomat at the United Nations and Minister of Agriculture of Haiti.
