HQ-17
The HQ-17 ( zh, s=红旗-17, t=紅旗-17, p=Hóng Qí-17, l=Red Banner-17; NATO reporting name: CH-SA-15) is an all-weather, low to medium altitude, SHORAD, short-range surface-to-air missile system derived from the Tor missile system, Tor-M1. Development In 1996, China ordered 14 Tor-M1 missile systems from Russia, delivered under contract in 1997. In 1999, another contract for 13 Tor-M1 systems was signed between Russia and China. Delivery of the systems took place in 2000. Around 2000, China sought to license-produce the Tor-M1 missile system locally, however, Russia reportedly refused. As a result, China decided to reverse-engineer the missile system. The HQ-17 was incorporated into People's Liberation Army, Chinese army service around early 2013. The system's existence was confirmed by the Chinese military in 2015. An export variant, called FM-2000, was displayed at the Zhuhai Airshow in 2018. Tor Missile System
The Tor (; ) is an all-weather, low-to medium-altitude, short-range surface-to-air missile system designed for destroying airplanes, helicopters, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and short-range external ballistics, ballistic threats (anti-munitions). Originally developed by the Soviet Union under the GRAU designation 9K330 Tor, the system is commonly known by its NATO reporting name, SA-15 "Gauntlet". A navalized variant was developed under the name 3K95 "Kinzhal", also known as the SA-N-9 "Gauntlet". Tor was designed to shoot down guided weapons like the AGM-86 ALCM and Ryan Model 147, BGM-34 day and night, in bad weather and jamming situations. Tor can detect targets while on the move. A laser rangefinder, also known as a laser telemeter or laser distance meter, is a rangefinder that uses a laser beam to determine the distance to an object. The PHL-11 is a truck-mounted self-propelled 122 mm multiple rocket launcher (SPMRL) produced by Norinco for the People's Liberation Army Ground Force. It is a modernised replacement for the older PHL-81. Development The PHL-11 is derived from the SR-4 multiple rocket launcher designed for export which was, in turn, developed from the PHL-81 multiple rocket launcher. It was adopted by the People's Liberation Army under the PHL-11 designation. The PHZ-11 shares similar armaments with the PHL-11, but with a tracked chassis.
