HH Tunnel
The HH Tunnel (alt. Helsingtunnel) is a proposed series of tunnels under Øresund between Helsingborg in Sweden and Helsingør in Denmark. The connection is planned for passenger trains, and other proposals for the tunnels include freight rail and road tunnels. There is still no decision on the construction of the HH-route. Neither the Danish nor Swedish governments have committed to scheduling or financing. Local and regional authorities are involved in the project. The largest proposals for connecting the two countries' railways include two new high-speed railways: Jönköping–Helsingborg ( Europabanan, 250 km) and Helsingør–Copenhagen (50 km). A tunnel for freight trains would also need gentle inclines, making the tunnel 15 km long with railway stations deep underground, or to have separate tunnels for freight and passenger trains. Helsingør
Helsingør ( , ; ), classically known in English as Elsinore ( ), is a coastal city in northeastern Denmark. Helsingør Municipality had a population of 63,953 on 1 January 2025, making it the 23rd most populated municipality in Denmark. Helsingør is located at the narrowest part of the Øresund strait and together with Helsingborg in Sweden, forms the northern reaches of the Øresund Region, centred on Copenhagen and Malmö. Helsingør is a ferry city with frequent departures with the HH Ferry route which connects Helsingør with Helsingborg, across the Øresund. Its castle Kronborg was used by William Shakespeare as the setting for his play ''Hamlet.'' Kongens Lyngby (, Danish for "the King's Heather Town"; short form Lyngby) is the seat and commercial centre of Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. Nordhavn Station
Nordhavn station is a commuter rail and rapid transit railway station in Copenhagen, Denmark. The station serves the eastern part of the district of Østerbro, as well as the harbour area of Nordhavn. The station is by the lines A, H, B, C, and E of the Copenhagen S-train network and line M4 of the Copenhagen Metro network. The S-train station opened in 1934, and the metro station opened in 2020. Landskrona
Landskrona is a town in Scania, Sweden. Located on the shores of the Öresund, it occupies a natural port, which has lent the town at first military and subsequent commercial significance. Ferries operate from Landskrona to the island of Ven, and for many years there was also a connection to Copenhagen. Landskrona is part of the Øresund region.
