Gwynedd Maldwyn (Senedd Constituency)
; ) is a proposed six-member constituency of the Senedd (Welsh Parliament; ) to be used for the 2026 Senedd election. It was proposed following the 2026 review of Senedd constituencies, and will be a pairing of the two UK Parliament constituencies Dwyfor Meirionnydd and Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr. It is to have a Welsh-only name. Boundaries A Senedd constituency comprising the boundaries of the UK Parliament constituencies of Dwyfor Meirionnydd and Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr, has been proposed by the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru for the 2026 election to the Senedd (Welsh Parliament; ). It was initially proposed using the name ''Dwyfor Meirionnydd, Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr'' in September 2024, but was renamed to in December proposals with most constituencies using Welsh-only names. Welshpool ( ) is a market town and Community (Wales), community in Powys, Wales, historically in the Historic counties of Wales, county of Montgomeryshire. The town is from the Wales–England border and low-lying on the River Severn. The community, which also includes Cloddiau and Pool Quay, has a population of 6,664 (as of the 2011 United Kingdom census), with the town having 5,948. Senedd Constituency
The Senedd constituencies and electoral regions () are the electoral districts used to elect members of the Senedd (MS; ) to the Senedd (Welsh Parliament; ), and have been used in some form since the first election of the then ''National Assembly for Wales'' in 1999. There are currently forty single-member constituencies and five four-member regions. The five electoral regions are: Mid and West Wales, North Wales, South Wales Central, South Wales East, and South Wales West, with the forty constituencies listed below. Voting last took place in all districts in the 2021 Senedd election, and is not used for local government. The current boundaries were introduced for the 2007 Assembly election. Montgomery ( ; translates as ''the town of Baldwin'') is a town and Community (Wales), community in Powys, Wales. It is the traditional county town of the Historic counties of Wales, historic county of Montgomeryshire to which it gives its name, and it is within the Welsh Marches border area. Dwyfor Meirionnydd (UK Parliament Constituency)
Dwyfor Meirionnydd is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (at Westminster), represented since 2015 by Liz Saville Roberts of Plaid Cymru. Like its predecessors, it is a Plaid Cymru stronghold, with their candidate in 2024 achieving a majority of 39.3%. Until 2024, the seat shared the same boundaries with the Dwyfor Meirionnydd Welsh Assembly constituency, the latter of which still uses the borders established for the 2007 Welsh Assembly election.
