Guy Williams (British Army Officer)
General Sir Guy Charles Williams, (10 September 1881 – 2 February 1959) was a British Army officer who served as General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Eastern Command during the Second World War. Military career Born in Bangalore in British India on 10 September 1881, Guy Williams was sent to England where he was educated at Sherborne School. He later attended the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, where he was commissioned as a second lieutenant into the Royal Engineers and, after serving briefly in the Second Boer War, served in the First World War. His service in the war was outstanding, being mentioned in dispatches seven times and awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1915 and, in 1918, commanding the 199th Brigade of the 66th Division, where he had previously been Commander Royal Engineers (CRE). Guy Williams (politician)
Guy R. Williams (October 7, 1907 – December 31, 1992) was a Canadian Senator and Haisla First Nations leader and was, for a number of years, the only Native Canadian in the Senate. He was appointed on December 9, 1971, following the March 31, 1971 retirement of James Gladstone who had been called the first status Indian appointed to the upper house. In fact Williams appears to be the very first First Nations Senator, because Senator Gladstone was only adopted onto the Blood reserve and he was ineligible to be on the Indian Register. Armando Joseph Catalano (January 14, 1924 – April 30, 1989), better known as Guy Williams, was an American actor. He played swashbuckling action heroes in the 1950s and 1960s. Among his most notable achievements were two TV series: ''Zorro'' in the title role, and as the father of the Robinson family on the popular sci-fi series ''Lost in Space''. During most of the 1970s, Guy Williams frequently visited and worked in television shows in Argentina, where he was most revered. He retired in the early 1980s in Buenos Aires, where he died of a brain aneurysm in 1989. Guy Williams (born 28 April 1984), is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who last played for the Lézignan Sangliers in the Elite One Championship and previously the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL competition. He played as a utility back or in the second row. Playing career Williams made his first grade debut for Brisbane in Round 15 2009 against Cronulla which ended in a 46-12 loss. Williams went on to play for the Central Comets in the Queensland Cup. In 2011, Williams left Central Comets and moved to France where he captained Toulouse Olympique. Pendon Museum
Pendon Museum, located in Long Wittenham near Didcot, Oxfordshire, England, is a museum that displays scale models, in particular a large scene representing parts of the Vale of White Horse in the 1920s and 1930s. The scene, under construction since the 1950s and with parts dating back earlier, was inspired by detailed research into the architecture and landscape of the vale, with some models of cottages taking hundreds of hours to complete. It was founded by the late Roye England, (an anglophile Australian who lived in England), and run jointly by the late English Model Maker, Guy Williams, (who made fifty-seven of the museum's ninety locomotives). They can be seen working together in the 1958 British Pathé short, 'Hair Thatching'.
