Gustaf Von Numers Prize
Gustaf von Numers (31 July 1912 – 21 May 1978) was a Swedish-speaking Finnish civil servant and leading heraldic artist. Life Gustaf von Numers studied heraldry in the 1930s under Arvid Berghman and was considered one of the leading Finnish experts in the area. He was a tireless writer on all heraldic matters. Together with colleagues in the field, he contributed to the initiation of the parliamentary law on communal coats of arms in 1949. Von Numers designed several communal coats of arms (including Jakobstad, Porvoo and Varpaisjärvi), military banners and personal and family heraldic signs. Von Numers was a founding member of thFinnish Heraldic Societyand its first chairman (1957 – 1964), as well as a member of the International Heraldic Academy ''( Académie Internationale d'Héraldique)'' from its founding in 1949. Kangasala
Kangasala is a city in Finland which is situated about 16 kilometres East of Tampere. The city was founded in 1865 and had a population of people as of . Kangasala covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . Finnish author Zacharias Topelius describes the city's natural environment in his poem "A Summer's Day in Kangasala" (which was later set to music by Gabriel Linsén). It is also known for its mansions, such as Liuksiala, where the Swedish queen Karin Månsdotter lived as a widow, and Wääksy. Kangasala has a long history of tourism due to its cultural aspect, notably its museums, and its landscape, which contains ridges and lakes. Gustaf Von Numers (writer)
Gustaf von Numers (born 21 March 1848 in Maxmo; died 6 February 1913 in Kannus) was a Swedish-speaking Finnish author and station master. Numers learned to know the theater man Kaarlo Bergbom in 1887. Bergbom got to read some of Numers's plays and set up several of his plays on the Finnish teater in Helsinki, for instance his debut piece ''Erik Puke'' in 1888. Numers wrote in Swedish, but was performed in Finnish. He was also serving as a station master in Bennäs from 1884, and in Kannus Kannus is a town and municipality of Finland. Académie Internationale D'Héraldique
L'Académie Internationale d'Héraldique (known in English as the International Academy Of Heraldry) was founded in Paris in 1949 to bring together experts in heraldry representing the various areas of the world. Admission is by election, and the number of active ''academicians'' is limited to 75. There is no limit to the number of ''associate members''. The general assembly usually meets once a year, and the headquarters of L'Académie are in Switzerland. The Académie's aim is to centralize the heraldic studies on the basis of the largest possible international cooperation.
