Gunapala Amarasinghe
Amarasinghe Pathiranalage Gunapala Amarasinghe( Sinhala: අමරසිංහ පතිරණලාගේ ගුණපාල අමරසිංහ ) is a Sri Lankan academic. He is a research scientist and a senior lecturer in Ayurvedic paediatrics. He is currently a professor and the head of the Department of Prasutitantra and Kaumarabrithya (Ayurvedic Obstetrics and Pediatrics) of Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo. Early life and career Amarasinghe was born and raised in Alawwa, a rural area in Kurunegala District. He obtained the Diploma in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from the College of Indigenous Medicine in 1976. He then attended to Benaras Hindu University for the degree of Doctor of Medicine which he obtained in 1987. He obtained his degree of Doctor of Philosophy from the Benaras Hindu University in 1997. Gunapala Malalasekera
Gunapala Piyasena Malalasekera, OBE, JP, (8 November 1899 – 23 April 1973) was a Sri Lankan academic, scholar and diplomat best known for his Malalasekara English-Sinhala Dictionary. He was Ceylon's first Ambassador to the Soviet Union, Ceylon's High Commissioner to Canada, the United Kingdom and Ceylon's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York. He was the Professor Emeritus in Pali and Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. Early life and education Born on 8 November 1899 at Malamulla, Panadura as George Pieris Malalasekera. Basnayaka Yasarathnalage Gunapala Rathnasekara (born 7 December 1961) is a Sri Lankan academic, politician and Member of Parliament. Rathnasekara was born on 7 December 1961. He has a BSc degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a MCom degree from the Sri Krishnadevaraya University. He is a senior lecturer in the University of Sri Jayewardenepura's Department of Accounting. He is director of the Kurunegala Sipwin Private Tuition Institute.
