Paul Michael Guidry (born January 14, 1944) is an American former professional American football, football player who was a linebacker for eight seasons in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the LSU Tigers football, LSU Tigers and McNeese State Cowboys football, McNeese State Cowboys, playing on an undefeated team for the Cowboys. Brian Guidry (born 1968 in New Iberia, Louisiana) is an American contemporary painter, and installation artist. Art While Guidry considers himself primarily a painter, he also works in multiple media such as sculpture, environmental installations and video. Guidry creates installations that in some sense are a recording of the natural environment. The colors he uses in his work have been sampled from the landscape. In the New Orleans installation "Surge", dried Johnson grass (''Sorghum halepense'') is the source for color. Carolyn Tyler Guidry (sometimes spelled Tyler-Guidry), a bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, was the first woman appointed to be a presiding elder in the Fifth Episcopal District of the AME Church and the second woman to become a bishop in the denomination. Biography Tyler Guidry was born on August 25, 1937 in Jackson, Mississippi. She attended J.P. Campbell College in Jackson and received an Associate of Arts Degree in Business and Secretarial Science degree. Gregory Mark Guidry (January 23, 1954 – July 28, 2003) was an American singer-songwriter. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he played piano and sang gospel as a child, and sang in a band with future Doobie Brother Michael McDonald as a teenager. With help from Rich Lang, a friend and fellow musician, they wrote and recorded several demos, drove to New York City from St. Louis, and signed a publishing contract with CBS Records in 1977 and wrote songs for Climax Blues Band, Robbie Dupree, Exile, Johnnie Taylor, Sawyer Brown, and Reba McEntire. In 1981, he sang as a backing vocalist for the Allman Brothers Band on their 1981 album '' Brothers of the Road''. Early life At Cedar Park High School in Texas, Guidry won the Texas State 100 Meter Track Championship with a time of 10.41 seconds. Mark Guidry (born August 6, 1959, in Lafayette, Louisiana) is a former American jockey. He ranks 22nd among jockeys in career wins with 5,222 wins as of March 7, 2014, the date of his last ride. He subsequently announced his retirement from riding to become a jockey's agent. This was Guidry's second retirement. He initially retired in 2007 and did not ride again for 4 more years. Born in Gueyden, Louisiana, on October 18, 1949, Guidry (who referred to himself as ''Le gros Cadien'' 'The Big Cajun') attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette), where he obtained a bachelor's degree in French and Spanish and a master's degree in French education. Ronald Ames Guidry (; born August 28, 1950), nicknamed "Louisiana Lightning" and "Gator", is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees. Guidry was also the pitching coach of the Yankees from 2006 to 2007. Guidry's major league career began in 1975.
