Gridlink is an American grindcore band, founded in 2004 in Hoboken, New Jersey. The band's song "Orphan", from their album also titled ''Orphan'', was played sporadically as an interrogation technique during the questioning of a terror suspect in the episode '' Blind Spot'', of the Showtime television series, " Homeland". Discordance Axis was an American grindcore band from East Brunswick, New Jersey. Biography Frontman Jon Chang stated on the history of the band: "Discordance Axis was a three piece grindcore band that started in NJ around 1992. The band started after myself and Rob's previous band disintegrated and we found Dave at a Human Remains show. We asked him to play a split 7-inch with us and it snowballed from there. The pattern was, we got together and wrote and recorded some material, then would part ways. We never really played live much because...well we couldn't manage to sell more than 500 copies of any of our records and we all had conflicting schedules. We get asked why we only toured Japan. Hydra Head Records
Hydra Head Records was an independent record label that specializes in extreme metal music, founded in New Mexico by Aaron Turner (the frontman of Isis) in 1993. It had another imprint, Hydra Head Noise Industries, which specialized in experimental and noise music. Turner announced he was winding the label down in 2012. In 2020, the label removed its catalog from Spotify and returned its album rights back to several artists. History Hydra Head was founded in 1993 as a distribution company while Turner was still in high school. In 1995, he moved to Boston to attend art school. In late 1995, he was handed a demo by local band Vent. That seven-inch single would be the first record released on Hydra Head. Burnt By The Sun (band)
Burnt by the Sun was an American band from New Jersey. Formed in November 1999 by ex- Human-Remains-drummer Dave Witte and guitarist John Adubato. ex-For the Love of... vocalist Mike Olender and bassist Ted Patterson joined soon after. A split EP with The Luddite Clone on Ferret Records brought them to the attention of metal-specialized Relapse Records. Impressed by the band's inventive, often humorous take on the metalcore genre, Relapse quickly signed the band, releasing a self-titled EP. Their full-length debut, ''Soundtrack to the Personal Revolution'' (featuring second guitarist Chris Rascio), was released on January 22, 2002, followed by ''The Perfect Is The Enemy Of The Good'' which was released on October 7, 2003. Blind Spot (Homeland)
"Blind Spot" is the fifth episode of the first season of the psychological thriller TV series ''Homeland''. It originally aired on Showtime on October 30, 2011.
